In years past I always managed a gigantic google form and sheet. People filled in the form and I made sure their in-game name and flight information got on the sheet. I got so sick and tired of doing it all manually. So I made a web-app:
You can login using your Eve credentials. Easily add your flight information by inputting your last leg flight number and time of departure and it’s done. You’ve been added, no typos, no mistakes.
As an added bonus you will get your own little dashboard where you can see who lands within the 1h timeslot of your own landing (+/- 30m). You can also link your Discord account. If you do then anyone who lands in your timeslot that has also added their Discord information can reach out to you and vice versa.
I know it’s really short to the actual event, but I totally forgot to make a post on the forum.
I see you haven’t been at Fanfest yet. That’s okay, someday you will also experience how awesome the community is. Just to sketch you an image, at Fanfest nobody cares whether you’re that one gate ganker, or that one dude that ripped another dude off, or the dude that broke the alliance bank and split. At Fanfest you can actually look back on stuff you went through together, that massive fight in null, this one time you barely escaped wormhole space. You’ll be bound to find someone who crossed your path somewhere. You’ll have some good laughs about it over drinks and just enjoy nerding out.
It is fun to meet up with others who are joining in on Fanfest and people who already went always take care of the newbro’s who are turning up for Fanfest for the first time. No-one is obligated to do anything, but I’m happy to know I’m not alone on my flight, I already reached out to the other person and we will have pre-flight drinks. Just because we can.
Just as I already know there’ll be at least 5 nerds at the airport when I land, we’ll probable sit on the same 45m ride with the shuttle bus to Reykjavik. I just believe it is more fun to already get to know some of your fellow capsuleers while on your way, the conversation makes the time move by faster.
