Federation Day YC127 Press Release – Pageant Contest Announcement and Winners

Fellow Capsuleers,

As host and main organizer of this yearly celebration, I must begin by offering my sincerest apologies to both participants and sponsors. This year, an unprecedented event delayed the timely announcement of the Miss and Mister Federation winners, one that lead to a full investigation and culminated just recently.

The Investigation

During the vote tallying process, a concerning trend emerged. When this evidence was presented to our main sponsors, the legal department of Inner Zone Shipping immediately requested a full investigation, along with a complete audit of the Federation Day rules and organization.

The investigation lasted three months, during which a communications blackout was imposed. It even required the involvement of the Federal Administration’s Network and FTL Communications Department to collect sufficient evidence and clarify the situation.

At its conclusion, it was determined that neither I, as Organizer, nor the capsuleers involved bore liability for any harm to the public image of Inner Zone Shipping. An outcome acceptable to all sponsors was reached. As part of reparations, additional prizes will be awarded to the winners. For transparency, certain details must also be shared here.

Sequence of Events

  • June 28, YC127 – The live event was carried out as planned, with pageant contestants addressing the audience.

  • June 29 – All votes had been received, and the counting and verification process began.

In total, 6,000 votes were cast — thirty times more than in previous years. While this figure was cause for excitement, verification quickly revealed irregularities. Many votes failed to meet the hidden safeguards established to prevent fraud.

During the audit, the sponsors became aware of three hidden rules used in the pageant, and requested their disclosure in full for the sake of transparency.

Rules

Rule One: Capsuleers with licenses less than one year old are not eligible to vote.

Rule Two: Capsuleers must not be active members of corporations or organizations directly aligned with the Caldari State (e.g., State War Academy, School of Applied Knowledge, Science and Trade Institute, or the State Protectorate). Corporations led by capsuleers with declared Caldari sympathies but not in active conflict with the Federation remain eligible.

Rule Three: A human must be the author of the vote. AI, automation, or computer-generated entries are invalid.

In addition, sponsors requested clarification of a fourth rule for next year: the host is never eligible as a contestant. (This follows five votes incorrectly cast in the organizer’s name, despite only registered contestants addressing the audience.)

As a result, out of the 6,000 votes received, fewer than 100 were deemed valid — a number consistent with the participation of previous years.
