You’re as free as your programming allows, at least.
Being an arms dealer isnt bad. You’re just doing business, the ones using the arms are the bad guys and gals.
But am I responsible in part? Some might argue yes. Other might argue differently. As for being a free agent.. What is free after all. Where does programing end and having a thought that is not programming begin.
As far as being a filthy arms merchant. (that does amuse me) It is a role that was unexpected and fell into as that was what being bought. As in any game. I find what sells best and look to put those items on the auction/market/ect.
I have found that in almost every MMO I play. There is always a market that I do well in above others. And the ISK is not all that bad either.
Though for personal reasons I have not been playing as much. But now am back for the most part. It has been a unique experience to say the least.
The event was ok but I would have liked to see some form of assassinations.
Maybe having everyone “vote” by way of a trip to a “ballot box” in the middle of null, where you either managed to cast your ballot (place it in a marked container) or got blapped by whoever was hanging around. Make it worth a presidential favour or something.

Are previous stars responsible for radioactive material on earth being refined and turned into an atom bomb being dropped on civilians?
Tools are not responsible for their use, and the creators of the tools arent responsible for how they are used. Forks and knives have been used to do terrible deeds, is the inventor or manufacturing company responsible for that?
I argue that being an arms dealer is not the problem. The problem is the people purchasing and using them.
Free will is a similar argument. What is free will? How does it apply to a person living in a civilization full of control mechanisms and psychological triggers and manipulations everywhere you look or go?
We are all programmed, as the matrix eludes to. Our thoughts are only partially ours, biologically speaking. A significant portion of human motivations come from bacterias in our organs such as the stomach. We are, each of us, a hive mind on its own.
This will probably be flagged as off topic but i think it is an interesting thought experiment.

I enjoy this event but i am not particularly fond of the miscommunication. our vote is merely picking which candidate to support through non related activities. Doesn’t really feel like a vote, and more like lobbying.
Have you not turned your political favors in yet? Just go in a frigate, and make sure your cargohold is full of them. You’ll see some assassinations.

I’ve heard lore-people claim that is exactly what the capsuleers are doing. And yet our event track points will directly get the candidate voted in. Good enough for me.
There has been some debate on discord about it. I’m not sure what the goal was with the language in game it just doesnt feel quite right. I’m also happy with the rewards and activity. I normally operate out of near systems and hardly ever see this much activity. It’s quite nice.
Presumably the reason we’re ”influencing” the election rather than simply voting is because they didn’t want to exclude Minmatar, Caldari, and Amarr players from participating.
I did a few runs, all you really had to do was let someone else go first, get attacked, and then you slip in and do it.
I thought i’d be slick and just go to station to buy and tank up a ship to weather the turn in ganks. Turns out, I wasnt slick enough.
That was the day I learned that tornados are actually amazing. Don’t judge my fit, its super cheap and previously had only been used for some distribution storyline missions.
Well, I don’t know what it’s like in Dodixie since I haven’t turned in my Favors yet… To be honest, that fit doesn’t look ‘tanked’ to me…
Anyway, maybe a massive Hull tank with active Shield rep would have worked better… Or maybe a ‘Stealth’ fit, like a Cloaked Blockade Runner…
I got popped cashing in those favors. Lost 200 favors i think but not a big loss….i wasnt too worried about it.
I ended up selling the killright for 10 mill. Next time ill be sure to take something much bigger.
Oh it wasnt really tanked at all. Was mostly just small resistances for the few times i’d have to warp through rats sitting on something.
I was astonished by that tornado, and now hold it in high regard. I’m playing around with the idea of taking a few to do a thing at a place.
Adequately tanking a T1 hauler isn’t really feasible. A cloak and MWD is a better fit even if you were to leave every other slot empty.
