[Finished] Test on Singularity - 1 July through to 7July: Freelance Job Delivery Method

o7 Freelancers!

We will be opening access to the Singularity test server to test the Deliver Items contribution method for Freelance Jobs.

Singularity is scheduled to go online at 14:00 UTC one 1 July, and will stay open until 13:00 7 July.

What exactly is being tested?

Mass tests generally look to put load on certain systems, however this test is a more of an individual mass test to evaluate the functionality for the Deliver Items contribution method of Freelance Jobs.

We have created a corporation called The Homefront Corporation which has issued some Freelance Jobs in Jita, Amarr, Rens, Dodixie, Thera, and FD-MLJ. You can use the /moveme command to move to one of those hubs and check the Freelance Jobs available via the Opportunities (shortcut Alt+J) interface.

We’d also like to ask you to create your own Freelance Jobs utilizing the new Deliver Item method, and provide feedback on the process. We understand that not everyone will have the required roles to create Freelance Jobs, but for those that do this will be immensely helpful for us.

Large Skill Injectors will be seeded on Singularity, and you can use the /moveme command to move between systems and regions.

How to connect to Singularity for this test:

  • Change the server from Tranquility to Singularity in the bottom right corner of the launcher and log in as normal.
  • More detailed instructions are available here.

Test server rules still apply, which can be found here: https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/13172315768860-Test-Server-Rules

While we are looking to test Freelance Jobs, you are certainly able to test other things as well while on Singularity - we just ask that while you’re there, you spend some time with the Freelance Jobs - either made by the Homefront Corporation or otherwise.

There have been several mass tests this month, and we thank you all for the continued effort to make future patches as amazing as they can be!

So last night I went and set up a few projects for Eve Rookies. As someone setting up the freelance project, no issues what so ever. I tried with a bunch of random things, including Lyavite since that’s something we ALWAYS need for incursions. Worked as expected! :+1:

However, there is some improvement that should be made at some point when being the person delivering.

1.) somehow between the area I picked up the project to the delivery station 1 system away, it became untracked. I can see a new player wondering where it went and not thinking about going and hitting track again.

2.) I then picked up the one about delivering a corvette. First I just generated it and tried to deliver (I did leave it). I got an error message that didn’t tell me what was wrong other than the delivery couldn’t be made.

I figured it was because it wasn’t stripped. So I stripped it. Got the same error message.

Once I repackaged it, it was accepted.

Someone brand new isn’t going to understand that ships need to be packaged to be delivered.

3.) The desto could be a little more obvious. Again, assume people brand new to the game are going to be picking these up and might struggle with finding how to get it where it needs to go.

4.) Missions alert players if they’re going to go into dangerous space. Might want to think about adding the same warning somewhere for delivery projects.

Overall, looks good! My incursion folk are very excited about being able to put up projects for ammo and lyavite delivery and the Wormlife folk are very excited for fuel delivery to the WL structures.

Thanks for the feedback, Kshal, and for everyone who has helped test this system so far. We’ll be extending the test through the weekend so more people can have time to tinker with Freelance Jobs.

Testing is now completed. Appreciate everyone who was able to hop and and help stress test the Freelance Jobs. Singularity is now closed, and the Freelance Jobs Delivery contribution method is scheduled for release on TQ very soon.

I don’t recall seeing an announcement on the game launcher, as it was done with previous test this year. If participation was low, could be that you didn’t get the word outside this post at the very bottom of the Forum.
