Good idea!
I could make a short video with all the fireworks, one 7x launcher shot each (maybe one 1x launcher shot then 1x 7 launcher shot for each to show a single firework as well) or something. Actually now that I think about it I might do that anyway.
Though preferably then I would do it once the remaining three fireworks are dealt with. For this there needs to be a mass test (as CCP announced the test server will only be made available for such occasions but not in general, which is unfortunate) during which I assume it is also possible to hop in, buy the required fireworks and launch them while recording. Plus will also give another try to the one firework that did not produce any visuals, maybe it can be fixed somehow, worth at least a try.
If the test server will not be available (nor the two fireworks do not become available on Tranquility) then I will have to do with what is available at the moment. Worst case can āre-uploadā the video with all the additional fireworks included that are currently not available.
Yeah, that would be good for an overall look at the various types available.
However, for the wiki it might be better to keep each type separate and condensed so people can easily and quickly view specific types.
Anyway, you definitely did some excellent work on creating those previewsā¦
EDIT:
Also maybe set them up in different categories according to their explosive effect such as small, medium and large.
Yeah will discuss the details with the contact from E-Uni once I get to contacting them. Will do whatever format best fits them.
In general though a summarized version as the first video of the series might be a good idea just to can quickly glance through all and every single firework in one video and if someone wants to see a longer showcase of one or several then can check the related longer video(s).
By the way also submitted a support ticket regarding the two fireworks that are not available on TQ, maybe CCP is willing to help out with those so I can make a video of them sooner rather than later or never. Weāll see how it goes but either way worth asking them about it.
Cool, definitely sounds like a plan of actionā¦
In response to my ticket CCP Swift was kind enough to ask on my behalf and as a result informed me that the fireworks that are only available on SiSi might undergo more testing and even change in the future before their final release whenever that may be.
Because of this Iāve decided not to include those for now as the goal of the showcase series is to show the fireworks as they are in the game (on the main server).
As such Iāve made the compilation video as is and made it the first video in the playlist.
3:19 the small yellow looking flowers and fantastic, first time seeing those.
Very nice compilation, definitely some good work done there.
I actually have an extensive collection of fireworks yet I didnāt recognize a few of those. Guess Iāll double check with your compilation and make sure my collection is up to date.
Thanks for posting thisā¦

So did you contact Eve Uni about setting up a Fireworks preview page using your video clips?
Not yet, am busy with other stuff both online and IRL so wouldnāt have time to meaningfully contribute anyway (as in if had to compile a new video just for that I wouldnāt be able to make it for quite some time) so maybe sometimes in the future.
Though if you or anyone else is interested in undertaking the discussion part of it feel free to contact the relevant person at E-Uni, maybe the current videos are already proper for them so no need to make a new one just for that purpose.
I only plan to contact them when sure I have both the time and focus to follow through and finish whatever task might come up as part of the process and currently am not in such a position, however am not opposed to someone else handling the discussions if have the time and willingness to do so.
Ah ok, I understand. I was just wondering if you had followed up on that after our last convo for that topicā¦
Now about contacting them, I think it would be best if you were the one to do that, especially since theyāre your videos and you know all the technical aspects pertaining to them.
Anyway, wish you all the best and may you find some extra time in the near future for itā¦
Iām a Uni wiki officer and Iāve had this bookmarked for quite some time. Currently, videos are poorly implemented until we upgrade MediaWiki versions. Wiki Curators donāt necessarily have a queue of content to put out, we focus on running the Wiki. I donāt think this would be a priority for a different Uni department.
Iām very interested in this data and would like to see it on the wiki. As it is, this might just be a link on the missiles page with some added basic info on snowballs and fireworks. But perhaps you or someone else will come up with a better implementation on the UniWiki in the future.
I would suggest Kherub Angels form a tournament practice team so you can try out your fireworks comp with greater ease on Thunderdome.
Yeah wikis in general are more about text content and charts with images being supplementary but not a focus, rarely animated gifs but not really videos.
Personally after thinking about it I donāt even really see a place for it aside of the one you mention as creating a separate fireworks page seems redundant as it either would contain a link to the compilation video that contains all the fireworks or embedded form but nothing else really which is pointless.
It could also contain the description of each of the fireworks maybe with their in-game flavor text but that also seems pointless as one can just look through the compilation video and itās faster and more expressive than text descriptions and the in-game flavor text can be looked up both in-game and out of it (for example through EVE Ref) so that is also pretty pointless.
So in the end having an own page for these seems unwarranted.
Thus I think what you mention including some basics and a link on the missiles page is the best possible implementation and good enough for what it is.
Maybe adding a link to the words firework
and snowball
(plus their plural versions) that redirects to the missile page (and the specific related chapter), I saw some such terms that have a redirect page associated.
Well as the corp is just a low tax and retirement place really aside of being useful for me personally it is beyond the scope of it to have a team formed based on it, actually the corp is about no corp duties or anything and I personally have no time for such either.
Besides I can take videos of fireworks no problem, already have some simple fireworks videos with mixed fireworks that I havenāt published yet but used one such as illustration for my EVE guide.
It is more a time and other projects taking up my time when I have some free time issue to make more firework related videos if anything.
The two fireworks missing are not (necessarily) final versions so no reason to take videos of those until the art team finalizes them, whenever that might happen. So even if taking videos of those on Thunderdome was possible I wouldnāt do it as my series is meant to represent the in-game state of the fireworks and not meant to be a historical view of how they looked at some point in time before they were final versions and added to the main server.
So in the end I think anyone could add a basic paragraph and chapter header to the missiles page as you suggested with a link to the video.
As for what else to add, maybe that they do not count as an attack (unlike in the past) when someone shoots them (so only a yellow box is shown to the target now while in the past it showed a red box but did not trigger CONCORD for example as they deal no damage and do not produce damage notification not even a 0 damage one thus no weapons nor limited engagement nor capsuleer combat timers either).
And basically thatās it, they are technically missiles that produce sound and visual effects if and when hitting their target. (Obviously the client has to have missile effects or whatever itās called enabled for fireworks and snowballs to produce their effects. Not sure how other gfx settings affect them.)
Maybe also worth adding the tidbit that festival launchers and display launchers differ in their cycle time (the latter shoots every 20 sec while the former every 4 secs) and that there exists a structure module (large) version of the festival launcher that can be fitted on player structures which has its own (large) festival charges associated with it thus can not launch regular fireworks.
(No idea if they produce bigger effects though as I seem to recall someone saying it is the same size but no personal experience and not sure how reliable that random person was, however based on the module description one might get the impression as if it should produce larger fireworks but no idea if thatās actually the case.)
Related in-game items for reference:
Related (regular) charges: Festival Charges - EVE Online Reference
Related (large) charges: Structure Festival Charges - EVE Online Reference
Other info that could be added is to classify the explosion effect of the various fireworks into 3 different groups = small, medium and large.
Could also add info pertaining to availability, some firework types are readily available at most Trade Hubs whereas other firework types are more rare with very limited availabilityā¦

I made a pass at adding the basic info to the missiles and the fitting upwell structures page. Will revise a little and add redirects when the uniwiki mediawiki upgrade is ironed out.
I donāt intend to do a thorough dive into this but Iāll try to remember to get images of the Meltwater-Snowball Exchanger and Yoiul Festival Snowball Exchange for snowballs as well.
