Flagging unwanted opinions away

CCP please do something against it…

It’s abused by so many people that cannot stand other opinions and simply want to shut them up…

This cannot be and surely is not how this was meant to be at the beginning.

Couldn’t resist.

Sorry.

Carry on.

Ignored content is way better.

I’m pretty sure ISD guys have needed rights and tools to reward flag abusers.

…and punish righteous flag users by giving them the power to hide posts or even unlist topics (yes it is a thing) so that they will garner ire of some forum dwellers in stead of ISD.

And using them at all would be very helpful…

So, while I agree that people go a bit overboard with it, I’m not sure that the flagging is a big deal considering you can still see the post. If flagging removed the post entirely I might care a bit more.

Seems to me allowing forum members to flag posts limits the number of posts ISD has to actually review, which theoretically should save them quite a bit of time. I would imagine rampant flagging is most annoying to ISD, because if everything is flagged it doesn’t really help them much.

Quoting ignored content…

I’d have to agree the ignore should be for the person who ignored not a blanket ignore. Forums is full of ass holes ignoring for no reason other then they can.

ISD or CCP NEED to do something about people ignoring totally harmless posts.

You are hereby informed that I am ignoring this post.

IMO, if we could CENSORED or perhaps CENSORED or even just CENSORED, the perceived problem of CENSORED would essentially be CENSORED. Quite simple, really.
:zipper_mouth_face:

Hypocritical, really. You’ve spent months spamming the same points over and over again on multiple threads, yet you find it perfectly acceptable to run another poster down when asking a genuine question.

… and no, I didn’t flag your post.

Hi folks! Just here to say that flag abuse is currently being looked at and that breaking rule 4 is not acceptable. As a refresher, here’s what rule 4 is:

4. Abuse of the forum tools is prohibited.

The EVE Online forums provide several additional plugins and tools, including the ability to embed videos and images, along with additional emojis and polling software. Use of these tools to troll, flame, post inappropriate content or otherwise break the forum rules is prohibited.

Additionally, this thread breaks rule 2, so I’ll be closing it for that.

2. Specifically restricted content.

EVE Online holds ESRB Teen and PEGI 12 ratings. All content posted to the EVE Online forums must be teen rated.

In addition to this, the EVE Online forums are not for discussion of real life current affairs, news, politics or religion. Discussion should revolve around EVE Online and its community.

For these reasons, specific content is prohibited on the EVE Online forums. These are:

  • Pornography
  • Profanity
  • Real Money Trading (RMT)
  • Discussion of Warnings & Bans
  • Discussion of Moderation
  • Private communications with CCP
  • In-Game Bugs & Exploits
  • Real World Religion
  • Real World Politics
  • Content that distorts the forum layout
