So I was looking over these two ships in a Compare, and not surprisingly, the Flycatcher muscles down on the Sabre in most areas. It’s a bigger ship, it costs more, you would expect it to come with more bells and whistles.
One thing that bothered me though, was that the Inertia Modifier for the Flycatcher was also lower than the Sabre. Now wait just a darned minute. The FC is 65,000kg heavier than a Sabre, but it somehow manages to also out-turn and out-accelerate it too?! I just really think the folks at CCP need to throw the Minmatar and the Sabre at least that bone. The FC dominates everywhere else.

At first glance of the base stats the Sabre is faster, has better align time has more low slots and is a lot cheaper in Jita.
Where did you see the Flycatcher domination?
I get what you mean, I too mostly fly Flycatchers (when I do fly interdictors) as the Flycatcher’s extra mid slot and higher base tank means it’s easier to get a decent tank on the ship for shield fleets, but the Sabre is not a bad ship. That, and my dictor alt can only fly Caldari destroyers.
I should make some fits to do a better comparison of the two ships, but I’m a bit too lazy for that. Easier is to check zkillboard popularity!
According the zkillboard stats it’s the Sabre that dominates if you look at the total amount of kills in the past week that involve interdictors.
Despite your observations the Sabre seems to be a lot more popular!
Poor Heretic…
now that’s an interdictor people rarely use!
