Guess what? The CEO has been warned through this dev blog and has a month to fix the issue before it goes live, and then has even more time based on how much fuel is in the structure.
Structure itself dies. That’s what’s important. Means that someone has to build a new one in order to spam it.
That’s an interesting point, completely wrong though. If that was the case, there would be no reason anyone has destroyed a structure in the game at all up to this point outside of wormholes. Thankfully, there is a lot to prove many will 100% destroy structures with no loot beyond what the structure drops.
I would be OK with 2 weeks. Can CCP send out E=mails to warn players who might be on a long vacation?
Question - perhaps covered somewhere that i missed, if so I apologize… so… if a structure reaches abandoned status and someone ELSE (not the original builders) comes to this abandoned structure - can they power it up and have it become their structure? Like pirates taking over an abandoned colonial port? I think that would be awesome.

Some people like destroying structures. For the rest of us there is no point. I see structures all over that I know are low power and not used. I don’t bother attacking them because dealing with the timers, possibly way outside of my normal timezone for likely no reward is a waste of time. There are abandoned space trash structures all over. Many from dead alliances/corps. At least after this change there is no timer to wait on and the possibility of some loot for my time.
Having friends in service, I see your point. There should be some sort of arrangement for that OR a LOT more lead time than a month or so.
That could mean up to a year. I feel bad for those stuck with this situation, but I don’t think it can be helped.
But of course, that was a choice you made Lucas. I made the choice to stay in highsec with very occasional forays to low sec and nothing beyond that. To assume that everyone else should be in the same position you are because you are there is unfair, wouldn’t you say?

Its just the word ABANDONED - it suggests a greater length of time than 7 days.
30 is far more reasonable, to fit the word “abandoned.”

I understand your point, but I think it could be abused. You would only have to fuel it once a month.

How would this apply to POSes? Currently a POS that is unfueled has no reinforcement timer. Additionally, there is never any asset safety in a POS.

Any chance of having abandoned citadels as free targets in hisec? I.E, won’t require war decs to engage?
We’ve been having to spend ISK to clear structures ever since the mechanic came out. You’ll have to join the rest of us and use Wardecs!
This is an incredible change! Hopefully this isn’t a one time event just to appease everyone with the structure spam. This needs to be a permanent game mechanic (although the permanent version could use some tweaking). Not going to lie, I’m very impressed with this one CCP!

Uh Faylee. Your wish is already granted. This isn’t an event.
As the wording currently stands, yes, you could do this, but you would be spending 3 days worth of fuel to online a module so there is a lower limit of 3 days worth of fuel every 7 days to keep your structure providing those services.
So June 2nd should be the 1st day of flames if CCP sticks with the 7 day timer?
