An “event” is something that runs for a limited time - A change in game mechanics (as this is) is a permanent change.

Not at all.
I am asking CCP to take into consideration that not everyone who is “inactive” is so by choice.
My accounts were ALL Omega when natural disasters and a man made virus, which i had no control over caused me to go inactive.
As you don’t have a clue about how RL can affect the average player I don’t expect you to understand.

I live in WH space, i can be 100% active and still lose everything if a large enough force comes and destroys my home, are you saying this should be changed as well?

No I am not.
I’m not asking for CCP to alter mechanics of the coming changes one bit.
I am asking for CCP to consider the whole player base and individuals circumstances.
Big difference.
I am fine with them making it possible for someone to put a ticket in to have their stuff asset safetied if they physically can’t log in. But otherwise making these changes because of the potential for an extremely limited number of people to be adversely impacted while the rest of the player base gets a benefit doesn’t make any sense.
This seems common sense, and I doubt sincerely they’d tell anybody to take a hike making that request.

And yes, this is about me, it is personal - It is my game and has been a part of my life for close to 16 years.

I find it hard to believe they told you they couldn’t help you.
The suggestion from support was to give my login details to a “friend” from my old corp and ask them to move my stuff as CCP would not be moving players assets as they have always been ay risk in structures.
I can’t post the actual reply here for obvious reasons.
You of all people should know that CCP makes mistakes and does things without first considering all the facts.

People who go AFK or people who are not vigilant enough do not deserve to lose their entire networth.
We all take extended breaks from this game?
Imagine coming back to find all your items gone, would you stick around?
i would not.
Imagine losing it all, just becouse CCP decides to do something about “ghost stations scatterd across new eden”.

That sounds a bit unfair. Imagine a neutral, NPC-Corp player having an Officer module or Tournament ship in such a station, then the station being destroyed and that multi-billion module/ ship dropping in high-sec. But it is what it is. We will adapt and survive, or fail to adapt and quit.
While thats true you knew the surrounding gsme mechanics and what will happen in the furure.
The other guy which was hit by two disasters in a row had his assets in a citadel while knowing from the start he is save there.
A friends in eve was also affected by bushfire and lives in wh. At the days he realized he coud loose his home (which he sadly did) he put his assets out of the wh because he knew it is not safe.
And now his assets to woud not be safe of he had put it on a citadel.
So i dont want loot piniatas go (hope to grap one too) but in all honesty of someone is not able to log in ccp shoud move his assets.
Everyone else gets informed by Mail and if they choose not to log in fine.

Hmm usually I wouldn’t condone stealing but just hypothetically speaking, that would only make sense if you would also have access to all assets and pilots hangars after a successful robbery attempt, no?
