Thats actually the one thing that does irk me. I dont like the RNG of this at all.
Like the example above……stopping the strips mid cycle to try and maximise against waste. If there is no waste you have to go again with an even shorter cycle………and so on and so on.
That does feel like we are being penalised a bit.
I get why they did it. They couldn’t take 34% from every cycle because of ice (you cant waste 34% of 1). So they had to make it a 34% chance of a whole. But i dont think this RNG at the end of a cycle was intended………its just what we get because of how its been implemented.
Its not a huge issue. But it could benefit form som QOL tweaks.
That means if the roid has less volume than twice the cycle yield, there’s a chance of losing ore from the cycle. So leave the remnants for the T1 cleaning squad would be another solution.
I think this is a good example of how bad things can get when you take too much player input for patch revisions. Other than the compression mechanic which certainly needs work, the original form of this was better in every way, excluding the bugs in the deployment naturally
ore m^3 doesn’t look all that “doubled”, in fact it looks very much like it did 3 days ago on another 2 week pull that popped right before the update. With the waste, it’s 37% less ore then last week I guess (not really, i’ll just go lurk in event sites instead of mining this, asteros are way better isk/time then R4 is, anyways).
I’m feeling sorry for the current devs, I know why some have left now. I’m mothballing my accounts and I’ll keep an eye n the game to see if it changes.
All I want is better mining ships why can’t we have battleship size mining ships first t1 then t2 then a marauder style ship with bastion for mining, I dont like booster ships I want big mining ships that can mine well and boost them selves with bastion or something I want more than 2 mining lasers on my ship, I’d love to get into mining more and put more skill points into it but I just can’t get into the mining ships currently in game I want bigger and better to aim for and ship prices are ridiculous atm probably going to unsub at the end of the month as they game is just not doing anything new just changing current ships here and there.
Just use your login reward instead of reproccing it for 1 Tritanium, or selling it (for way more then the 1trit price)

All of the complaints of these kind of people are of the “I hate that this miner that does something I hate can make 1/10th of what I make by doing that thing I hate. How dare those miners make 6-8 whole freaking million isk per hour doing something I hate?! And how dare them do that outside my control in a null bloc?!” variety.
That dude specifically, when he’s doing TiS, always comes off as talking about Untermensch when he talks about miners, SPECIALLY hi-sec miners.
Just remind yourself that these people hate that you can still make a meager living doing what you like in a supposedly sandbox game.
P.S.: BTW, just dare make the suggestion that would actually cure the problem, namely limiting active clients to two per person. Watch the heads explode…
The problem here is afk Orcas in ice belts in moon and ice belts. Those are a problem, especially in highsec, where you have no method of effectively removing them outside of ganking.
The other option would have been to drastically reduce the amount of ore inside moon and ice roids, so you can not just park next to a roid, do something else for an hour and come back to collect your ore.
That would actually nerf Rorquals as well, so it would be a good idea. My guess why CCP did not go that route is that to keep ice and moon ore amounts the same, they would need to increase the amount of asteroids in the belts at the same time, putting more objects on the server.
