From Extraction To Production: Update

It doesn’t take 10 hours to show the yield. LOL A 30 second clip would work just fine. Although the changes are in so it doesn’t matter now.

and Freighter pilots that AFK for profits? That is exactly the same thing as AFK mining. Will you lead the charge to champion nerfs to that activity as well?

How odd it is that choosing not to engage in a sandbox game is somehow now undesired? What next, a requirement that ganking can only occur between vested industrialists in direct competition over resources?

Those get ganked, as it should be.

I think CCP would love it if this were to happen. It seems to me that the encouragement of fighting over resources is at least part of what they’ve been doing recently.

I’m afraid I had last week to show my teeth to a brazen Retriever pilot who dared to enter my corp-mate’s ore belt and purloin one of only 3 rather small Rich Plagioclase rocks at that time remaining. I summoned the Retty-Wreckers and he decamped, pronto.

I don’t know what the world is coming to…

I mean, that’d be kinda funny, really.

“House SYKE sends their regards.” Flashes Corp ticker, gank

“CURSE YOU, SYKE!!!”

Ban AFK PI krabs

So sad that nobody will see this… This is a grind way now to mine… wheres the fun?

I have a feeling (Active game play) advocates would be first to complain if CCP made “Active Mining” an actual thing and rewarded it properly…Say 50-150mill an hour like certain activities in the game can rake in. I don’t think people would be happy for miners.

Same, Easier to escape now with the Exhumers EHP buffs that’s a plus. I think this is what CCP intended though, less ORCA mining.

beside corp fleets doing moon mining i don’t see a point to the Orca anymore. Real shame. was a really nice ship…

CCP Rattati’s idea of meaningful and entertaining PVE gameplay with appropriate Risk vs Reward. Whoever is waiting for a good rework of the missions in EVE, this is what you will get. And Rattati will keep claiming that his team makes EVE a better place.

Don’t forget to show the challenge you need to meet to secure such huge riches!!

300 diamond rats and a 30 minute timer to kill them. The rats don’t give any bounties.

5 dreads couldn’t clear them normally. You’d need a good sized fleet on grid to clear the site properly… All for 200m. Split between a fleet you’re probably looking at 10m/site or 20m/hour at most.

Is a brilliant argument, but it does not take into account that many ex employees still love the game and the communities that make it. That knowledge is not lost, just not readily on tap.
The majority of the wealth of EVE [expando vicinitas expertus] is accessible by diplomatic communication.

Loss of institutional memory means specifically that the institution, ie, CCP, no longer has that knowledge in-house. And while yes, many of the former developers still love the game, they’re mostly still in game development. If CCP were, for example, to want to talk to ex-CCP Unifex, and they reached out to him without getting his current employer’s ok, that might cause an issue. At the same time, CCP Games is, in effect, a direct competitor for Bethesda’s Zenimax studio, and their Elder Scrolls Online MMO.

And Unifex is currently the head of Zenimax, and the VP of Online Gaming for Bethesda. IOW, he’s running ESO. So imagine what kind of rumor-mill it could create if CCP were reaching out to Bethesda. Or Riot. Or any of the other publishers that their former developers work at now.

Suffice it to say, the industry buzz would not be that CCP is a smart, capable company that has the talent in-house to make their own game work. And there’s no way the C-suite at CCP, to say nothing of PA, are going to let those whispers start up where the investors can hear… and the investors will hear.

Bump.

Just my normal comment about minerals in HighSec moons. My guys are adapting quite well to the ship changes in the last patch. It doesn’t suit everybody, but it suits enough that overall we’re still enjoying our highly-social game. However the big driver for us is still the minerals in HighSec moons. I still stand by words: our game will die, and many players will leave if the minerals are removed. We’re not at all pushing for a return to moon mining like it was a couple of years (when all minerals were available in HighSec moons). The current mineral cross section works extremely well for us.

I know that there are many other high-SP players out there who do what we do, namely potter about in HighSec doing HighSec things. We mine, we build, we sell (mostly to each other). We’re not worried about min-maxing every little thing down to the last 0.01 isk/hr (and we’re not criticising those who; that’s your game).

A few of us have resubscribed our mining pilots, and if the current mineral cross section in HighSec moons is maintained then I can all but guarantee a lot of CareBears will resubscribe.

And this is exactly what CCP wanted. Make it so solo is trash but with duo it’s good.
I don’t recall a game that having multiple accounts was the best option to play the game…
Granted EvE is an MMO, being an MMO doesn’t automatically make it so paying for multiple accounts is the optimal way to play the game…
Mining is f*cked
High Sec Mining is dead.
Do you feel rewarded for the investment you’ve commit to getting a station to do moon mining assembling a fleet to mine moon ores and what you get are: Oxygen, Water , Proteins , Bacteria?
I would of expected to get Ores out of these… Or some sort of Gas that i can then transform into another materials of my choosing with different convertion rate based on the rarity of that material would make much more sense and more rewarding than forced Pi stuff that we already do have available…

CCP have no clue where they are heading , slowly killing their game off. CSM have no idea of economy or industry stuff they just want PvP cause they are bored out of their mind in NullSec starving for PvP.

This is the worst state EvE Online have ever been in.

PI didn’t make it into the mix for HighSec moons.

I have my reservations about how much HighSec mining you’re doing. As a group we’re feeling ok about our game right now, as are quite a few other highsec group with whom I am in contact.

The frequency of your highly negative comments and replies is undermining the legitimacy of some of the points you raise.

Hey if you like it good for you, you know best afterall.
I’ve never done moon mining so take my view on it with a tiny grain of salt, it’s based on what I have seen from EvE University and the dev blog. The price tag associated with all of it on what’s required to do moon mining. It’s not appealing at all.

I’ve never tried to hide my feelings towards this “patch” The Orca change is uncalled for and poorly done at that. The changes done to belts that wasn’t mentioned anywhere besides “we’ve doubled the quantity of roids ores” which Orca nerf + belts looking like a pile of dog excrement = a terrible gaming experience for me.

I used to run missions and on the side i would mine with my Orca from time to time to make some isks while im by myself and no corp mate or friends were around all the while watching a stream on my second monitor. Which i think is a normal thing to do , i’m paying my subscription , i’ve invested alot of training time and isks to be able to do that…

That’s one aspect of the game and income that CCP removed for me. I am so salty about theses changes i don’t even want to log into the game anymore. It’s not fun anymore. It’s a chore.

Besides… how can i recommand a game to my friends that i don’t even enjoy anymore… It’s a real shame cause i loved EvE. When i first started what attracted me was the mining aspect being able to mine raw material and then process it into actual ship and modules… Right now i’m having a sour taste in my mouth from the direction they’ve decided to go and i’m left with 4 choices…

  1. Suck it up chump and train for the Large Industrial Core T2 and pay that 200mil-400mil + fuel usage to be less efficient than prior the patch.
  2. Forget the Orca leave it collecting dust in your station and only take it out to go sell stuff at a main hub , afterall the Orca have a big cargo. Mine with a Porpoise instead it’s the same, cost less and you already have the training done for it.
  3. Suck it up chump. All the training invested into drones and industrial command ship goes to waste , instead go train for mining , strip miners , barge , exhumers and buy yourself a Mackinaw for HALF the price of a Large Industrial Core T2
  4. Stand your ground. Don’t resub until they fix their mess.
