Being AFK in a Rorq affords you a lot more time between the shield alarm and actual danger compared to the alarm of a Retriever or Hulk and its death. You have a lot more time to respond and weigh your options with regards to how to respond and to get back to your keyboard if you are truly afk.
But I take it that you don’t have a serious response to the question. Thank you.
mining missions have uses although what you get isnt much but they are a good way to gain / repair faction standings or gain some LPs with a fairly low skill or a mining alt in a semi afk method i have done them before while doing other things as well
Oh i don’t doubt it that some people might do that having 100+ accounts and using the skill inject/extract, It’s too much of an hassle for my taste , just doing PI 3 times per weeks for 2 months now is starting to get on my nerves lol!
If they’ve done that for years… Sheeeesh. I still think they using third party program to do that cause that’s close to Insanity.
100+ is required if you want to play the SOV game. You need a spy toon in each mention worth alliance and their sub/alt-alliances after all. You might also “need” to have additional toons there, that are in standing fleet, warp cloaky to ratters / miners who also are in the standing fleet, bookmark their locations, and share that locations with your main, so your main and it’s fleetmates can land straight on grid immediately after spiking into local. Or your HIC alt(s) in yet other corps to tackle an expensive ship operated by it’s corp-mate, for your main to clap it. The HIC alt will be banned from that corps and alliance once it does that, so that capsuleer exists (afk-gila-ing in null, whale-ing in high) for ages until it’s time to be used has come, and after that you might as well just extract and biomass that toon, and create a new one to replace it.
There’s also the problem that most major alliances have sanctioned the usage of supercaps. And you’re not going to ask the alliance for permission to drop your titan on someone. Instead you create a new toon, skill inject it into the titan, and don’t have it join your corporation / alliance. Now you can drop your titan, and don’t need to ask for permission.
OK but the post says the update didn’t get to sisi yet. And I mean just the T2 waste amount if it triggers.
I can see it may remain the same since no mention of a change but it would be nice to confirm once the sisi gets the update.
I really think if compression has to be done by a module, there needs to be only one type - refitting is not fun - and it needs to draw from the ore/ice/gas cargo holds directly, and be able to auto cycle till what ever it was compressing is done.
A suggestion to maybe bring back some extra value to the orca/rorqual is a “Hauling Reconfiguration Module” that nerfs most abilities but makes it really good at hauling stuff. The logic being that people are going to have one for running a mining fleet, but maybe not a dedicated hauling ship to take the stuff to market. A suggestion on what it might look like is a passive high slot module, that nerfs the mining and boosting abilities but expands the size of the cargo holds. Other things it could buff is maybe wrap speed, align time or something to help with the cloak + mod trick.
Well I mean the 100% waste effectively destroys 50% of the belt on average, I agree with what you’re saying. Just clarifying that it is a confusing point thatv100% waste is in effect 50% of the belt going away
C types are all about clearing the field so it will respawn… For example of the all the hi-sec ores, scordite is needed the least… if I just leave the scordite there the belt doesn’t respawn quickly… ALL the belt has has to be gone for the fastest respawn.
I can’t remember the exact maths, but you can easily get close to covering a month’s plex with minimal effort. I think you get 4-5 large skill injectors per month - so 340mill x 4 = 1360mill nearly enough.
Believe me, I do it with 2 accounts to keep them omega. Even if you end up a bit short the difference would be trivial to make with an army of alts.
This is not a rewarding activity, though. It introduces something that was not there before as an annoying chore because someone can’t come up with a better idea.
In nullsec there’s many markets where Skill Injectors sell for 150% Jita. Veterans are so rich they don’t care paying a “little” more, and it saves them moving a toon to lowsec, which is scary, or highsec, which is even scarier with CODE and Concord and gate guns and 30 capsuleers operated by someone else in local.
If you have some investment capital and the guts to dare going to highsec, you can make quite a bit of money by importing skill injectors from highsec, just need to wait until the next player thinks he wants another carrier alt.
Allow the Rorqual to use industrial cynos, or could we be hearing something in a following update about the fleet jump feature that @CCP_Psych mentioned?
Holds of Barge and Exhumers, especially on Coveter/Hulk should be synchronized with their efficiency raise. Otherwise multi-alt mining with Coveter/Hulk would be bot-only access.
Another thought:
Maybe it’s better to design a Industrial Expanded Cargohold for barge, being a low-slot equip, enabling miners to make their choice between efficiency and ore hold. But base hold expand is still needed. I don’t wanna see my max-efficiency-ed Hulk drain it’s ore hold within 2 round of miners.
CCP should be thrilled that I skill farm(that’s actually the more cash in their pocket)… yes it made easy isk… Well, until the war and then the ESS changes (actually don’t remember which came first as neither affected my game). It’s now been losing isk for more than a year! My skill farms have been quiet for several months now and nothing I see will get them going again. It actually forced me into multiboxing with what I have left since it didn’t support my casual play style anymore.
Guess what… more than one ganker has even larger set-up to play their game
When theses changes go through Orca’s name should be change to Loot Piñata
I guess you are speaking about highsec as you hint toward it in comments later on.
That change is what enables the non-afk miner to react. Two catalysts are able to gank any barge/exhumer but proc and skiff currently in highsec and thats the issue. two players entering local is sth that drowns in 90+% of highsec locals if that is upped lets say 6 catas to effectively gank those miners the miner has the option to think about leaving grid when the amount of players in local e.g. doubles within a few minutes. its about having a choice in the risk vs. reward game.
And as i said a few times i would not care about their survivability if their price-tag would resemble the pricetag of ships required to gank them.
Would it have an effect on the amounts of ganked Hulks overall i have no clue, for me it would and with those being afk-ganked i have no sympathy.
to differntiate them from other ships? Bye damagepotential and haul capacity, wich miners have “none” currently. Or du you mean in between barges and exhumers?
Welcome to ‘spreadsheets in space’. I mean, really, the only thing I find ‘exciting’ in this game is leading the logi wing of a fleet through a fight with 1500+ people on each side. Small scale pvp is too ephemeral and meaningless, and supercapital battles… well, they happen once every few years, maybe.
I have a spreadsheet only for the purpose of calculating the profit/loss margin for skill farming. 380 mil isk/month loss… CCP is very pleased with you(A fool and his money are soon parted)
