They should limit the amount of ore in a belt. That would encourage miners to venture into lower security space for better options. It worked for me after my first few months of playing the game.
So you instead just decide to prevent others from enjoying it lol
You mis-read, I think?
I am not keen on mining, but I’ll let that (comment) pass (rather than launch into a whole new topic).
Apologies for being unclear.
There is not a single pleasure in this world which is immune from the dark hand of Fate.
The waste mechanic is ■■■■■■■ stupid, how about something that does what you want but is actually useful?
Refining should produce T2 minerals and left over T1, this is “waste” but is actually useful. Requires actually doing working on blue prints tho…
Anything over 1 T1 and 1 T2 mining barge in the game is a waste of dev time. Its obvious players want Tank, Hold Space and Yield IN A SINGLE SHIP. anything less is kicking the can down the road again and again. Just combine them, even when combined it would never be a strong as a afk orca and is gankable. Its not that hard.
Well, rushing new players into ganking kills is part of the problem. Teach them like we learned in the good old days… Teach them to survive by skilling up their tank and outmaneuvering their opponent to eventually last longer in a fight. Then they can work on their DPS. The result is good fights from day one versus hundreds of 5M SP gankers expecting 5 second cheap thrills. I EARNED my first kill after many losses and development trying to defend my miner in low-sec. These gankers will never know that feeling. That’s EVE’s special sauce over all other games and your newbro corpmates will never know that feeling because you ruined their virginity with backward PVP activity.
Now, who are those? I’d be interested for my trading alt if the price isn’t absurd (it will probably be)
It depends.
If I’m sitting at an r64 with a high ore value, and I know that I’m going to want to fully clear it, then I’m going to use either type A crystals or t1/faction miners. If instead I’m in a belt or a lowsec anom where I’m likely to get chased off and not come back, type B crystals are more useful, because it increases the amount of ore I can take home before I get chased away
No - The wastage number everyone is fixated on ie 34$, 60% etc is the chance that wastage occurs - the AMOUNT wasted is the exact amount you mine x the wastage multiplier - look at type C crystals - multiplier is currently 18 - but mining yield is 0.25 -
so
1000 is the m3 of the ore you are capable of mining with you setup, skills etc
Type C (waste probability 59% + 34% for the T2 strip = 93%)
Yield (in cargo amount)
100 x0.25 = 250 in your cargo
250 (cargo amount) x 18 (waste multiplier) = 4500 that goes to space dust - 93% chance of this happening on every cycle
Quite simply, you are wrong, in my view. I can only speak from my own experience, and it tells me that, just as there are Industrial Corps in Highsec who enslave new players by ‘teaching’ them to mine, and not how to acquire a broad overview of the game, there are likely to be similarly unfit organisations behaving as you assert. I don’t know of them, so I cannot speak to that.
That is a grossly inappropriate comment to make in a public forum - anywhere, in fact. You clearly have something against the ganking community, but surely it would be better if you expressed yourself in a manner more suited to mature discussion?
Unless you are using off-spec crystals as I keep saying, then it is more like 18k m3 of waste per cycle.
WIth regards R4 Moons which are now being revisited, is the reason CCP wanted to remove minerals from them because they did not want Nullsec having access to Pyerite and Mexallon? If so would it not make more sense to remove R4 Moons from Low and Nullsec altogether thus removing the issue of Lowsec and Nullsec having Pyerite and Mexallon on tap.
After all it was done with normal belts/anomalies why not adjust the Moons the same way?
Ah yeah, I was forgetting about Safety’s troll dialectic , though it doesn’t really work to disguise the reality of that gameplay being just internet bullyism
Ah interesting, so it was nullsec crying again?
You’re not looking at it the right way.
As things are now 1 cat can gank a hulk. 1 person entering local in highsec you may miss and the lone ganker is successful.
Tripple EHP you now need 3 cats instead of one. 3 people entering local is more likely to attract the attention of an active player. The semi AFK is still likely to die though.
limit the play time to 1 hour per week
The x18 is an additive modifier to the multiplier. The multiplier defaults to 1 (100% of what you mined), making the final multiplier x19, for 4750.
Which shouldn’t have to be pointed out to the industry expert that said he’s been looking at this stuff since April.
That’d certainly align with the opinions of another CSM (Vily) who said that the current lack of engagement is better than people logging in for hours over some stupid war (that he started).
Honestly in hisec there’s so much traffic that unless they are known gankers even the non-afk will die
You’re in the wrong part of highsec, then.
Well, where I’m often in Amarr space there’s rarely less than 20 in local
Which bits of Amarr space? It’s kinda big.
