YOUR NOT LISTENING, limits are placed on the ISP for type of ship on line , thus getting away with the 5-10 + rorq orca’s on line at a time. if they can do the omega alpha on log on they should be able to do that. limited by isp/computer id. If some one wants to sure 2 use to different isp’s or computers hay then go ahead have fun with that. Most of us already have multiple accounts, this game is too large to have one toon do everything involved. That does’nt have to mean mass cheating like that should be allowed. That way not every corp, toon that has and uses 1 rorq orca gets nerfed because of the assholes.
First time, huh? lol
Ships get nerfed and buffed, wait until you have to train the FOTM doctrines for nullsec only for them to get nerfed a month or two after you finally train into them. Think of the SP as an investment for the future when the ships get buffed again.
Virtual Machines, Eve Anywhere, […]
Firefox can setup a different VPN for each private browsing tab, but even if it couldn’t ISP data is worthless to identify people.
Just buy another VPS and remote desktop connect on it, costs 10USD per VPS and each VPS has it’s own global IP address, while eve on the VPS can’t know what other remote desktop connections your RD-client has. I’m pretty sure nvidia’s gaming cloud has a better deal and more performance, too, though.
heartless joke:
Don’t worry, these codes can’t get past The Federation’s environmental conservation laws.
So how do these other games handle it then?
Because CCP is giving null-blocks a gift… Their ore is in anomalies that respawn but can’t if there are enough rocks left… Those rocks are of little value because of all the other rocks provide better. Null-block CSMs want more and easier time of getting all the best. The rest of New Eden didn’t matter. Half baked ideas catering ‘elite’ blocks.
Riot of Jita proves we(the unrepresented) do pay attention
they don’t. plain and simple.
The first version was the other way around but that would run the risk to exclude new players from mining.
They fliped it around so Rattati can add waste to the game without killing newbro mining.
It’s not about a menanigful progression it’s punishment for pointing out that waste was a stupid idea - now you get to waste either your time with low end miners or half of your rocks with high end miners.
Waste for everyone!
Look at New World, game just came out and its already infested with Bots.
And I’m totally ok with a gas huffing venture being ganked by a catalyst…nay even by a corvette it would be fine.
You should rather take the 10M skill points barge you were mentioning before, plus various other skills on shields/armor/hull/maneuverability, you know the “magic 14” that give survivability and access to T2 tank fits, add up all together and compare it with a ganking alpha alt that needs about 400k SP.
Also compare the price of said barge, around 250M, with the catalysts used to take it down, around 1.6M each
Also consider that there is a game mechanic designed to make hisec piracy a risky profession with a high investment, security status, which is circumvented by creating and deleting free accounts
Dare again to say it is balanced…
They data mine for player behaviour to detect bots and cheaters, and for multiaccounters, they don’t do anything. Other games are way more interactive then eve, which even tidi-es for you to get more time to alt-tab through your 20 alts without being at a disadvantage in terms of reaction speed to a player that has only one account.
You can’t really make checks like that, some ISPs make thousands of users look the same to the outside network, and you can easily make your computer look as 2 different ones
Following FOTM, and “metas” in general, are the best way to be disappointed in any game. It is exactly what game designers will keep trying to level up, and it is a good supported game if they do
New Dawn provides a great chance for CCP to introduce some new ships to the mining line with opportunities for diversity in a fleet.
With the changes to Orcas and Rorquals, we lose solid mining drone based ships. I would love to see a new barge/exhumer based around them. You could make up for lack of boosting by balancing against yield and waste. Maybe they get near boosted yield but higher waste.
With waste added, CCP could change it so that Mining Lasers have lower waste than Strip Miners. This would work for the rookie pilot angle, since strip miners should not be considered rookie gear. Then with a new Mining Laser based barge/exhumer, you could again balance yield against waste.
I am aware; that’s why I said main gameplay gankers are not good for the game. Most gankers are the alts for most people. For those who wish to only get their thrills thru ganking, this shouldn’t be the game for them because that is unsustainable… as evident in the declining player population. Perhaps they should put those energies into developing new players than stomping on random people in high security space.
A Barge is price hiked to 40M, not 250M. 250M is an Exhumer, and those are dedicated equipment used for mining fleets that operate in areas that are safe, which means nullsec, rather then solo mining with non-allies in local as it’s always done in highsec. Null mining fleets also have pvp-fleets that back them up in case something happens, Highsec miners never do.
If barges default to exhumers, you can swap that the coercer/corm/thrasher that often just bounces off the tank of a procurer while it’s drones destroy the destroyer, with a battlecruiser, which is the premium class suicide ganking ship. Navy one of cause, since it’s easier to fit then the regular one.
A solo ganker in highsec doesn’t clap an exhumer because he was enabled to by some magic, he claps it because the exhumer made a series of mistakes, and the ganker uses that to his advantage. First off, assuming he has no cloaky eyes on grid at the time he warps, the ganker will land >20km away from the exhumer, warp decelleration and then approaching into scram range will take him so much time that the exhumer should be able to align and get into warp, even if the exhumer only noticed the ganker as he appeared on the overview.
Most miners, however, sit either straight on the warp-in beacon, saving the destroyer 5-ish seconds to approach, or at zero-distance to a rock, which will be in their way as they try to align somewhere. And they didn’t look around where a good location to warp to would be in forward, now they have to improvize as half of the possible locations are un-alignable over the rock being in the way. Also, most exhumers are AFK, so the ganker also is in no hurry to get to the barge. That’s why the gankers use scrams and blasters rather then disruptors and long range weapons that can already provide DPS while the ganking ship is way out of blaster range.
Just look at how many ishtars, in nullsec, are clapped by literally anything. Ishtars are more expensive then exhumers and need more SP to get into, but they’re even more likely to be afk when a ganker lands on grid 100km away from them.
You don’t need to delete accounts. Just buy security tags that are dropped from elite rats in lowsec, and your security rating will be all nice again.
For faction standings, if you even care for them, you can powerlevel them with a toon that has high standings and can run lvl4/lvl5 missions. And if you’re too lazy for that, there’s a player group that sells standings powerleveling services.
All those trading accounts in Jita have never undocked, but they all have perfect standings with the caldari navy, and therefore pay lower broker fees then interactively used capsuleers
Oh you’ll never see me defending afk miners, but still I applaud the proposal about buffing barges’ tank. It is not true that the miner must have made mistakes, all it takes to not give them any chance is to take a venture and disguise as one of the other 10 miners in the belt, bookmark your victim, reship and fleet warp right on it.
After all you were on a 1-day alpha alt on a venture, you didn’t look like a threat
Good info Moko, but also think… by the time a player trains up to T2 barges they’ll likely seek to grow their fleet or train a little into PVP to find new ways to defend themselves.
Just stepping in here, M-I. A proportion of those new players are hungry for ganking kills. We train and support them in that, and also - because we are everywhere in New Eden - introduce them to our friends in the different regions. We encourage them to learn as much as they can - just like any other responsible EVE community.
That you happen not to like the activity, is unimportant. I’m not keen on mining, but I am sufficiently mature to let that pass, and to defer to those whose knowledge exceeds my own.
Why do you think that I, a ganker of old, come here daily to read this thread? To glean intel? No. I could get that anywhere. It’s because I am still interested in the game, and in keeping up to date with what is happening.
I have not (yet) become bitter, pompous, and self-righteous!
I have no issues with semi AFK miners. There is a difference between botting and semi AFK miners. Mining while getting some real life work done or watching a movie brings life to Eve. It’s the same concept as encouraging hanging out at a coffee shop with free WI-FI because eventually, you’ll buy something and the company will make profits.
