From Extraction to Production

you are ok, its the idiot csm that apparently doesnt know that compression is already being done in game from a ship hangar. and it works well even with a 50k input limit\

i was able to mine and use my ore hold for myself, while boostnig others who managed their own compression in my fleet hangar. sometimes people kick in some heavy water , but as long as i could mine it wasnt really necessary. now that seems like its going away.

yeah like idk do a MAC ADRESS check or something of the sort, they don’t care , they love their multiboxers it’s their bread and butter and the shape the game around them aswell. NERF PORPOISEE ORCA RORQUAL solo mining make them support industrial instead… this just remove solo mining with indus ship instead encourage those indus ship to get a 2nd omega account and get the juicy boost theyve received and while at it let’s add waste , oh snap now my yield is even less but wait the boost has gotten better if i get a 3rd account i will be the same as it was before the nerf !

It’s so bad…

In a perfect world CCP would realise this is concept is absurd and instead they will allow you to Omega one account and allow you to multi skill up other characters on your account WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COST, so you could train character A to be a miner , character B to be an industrialist , character C to be a combat specialist . instead of 2 to 3 ■■■■■■■ Omega accounts to do that.

Multiboxers every single issue we see of people complaining about “Wahhhh Orca is too good at mining Wahhh some guy jumped with his 10 Orca in my belt T_T Orca is too OP at mining please CCP nerf Orca so they don’t do that :(((((” when the issue is not the Orca, it’s the multiboxer… which CCP allows to do so.

How is the CSM an idiot? He is simply relaying what CCP are telling him when he asked about it.

so good and accurate

because is the CSM played the game and worked with miners he would know that compression in ship hangars not only works but is already happening in game.

sorry to be so harsh, but i prefer my representatives to actually represent players and not just a candidate elected by a large group of lemmings

Which is why presumably they asked CCP why it changed. CCP gave an answer. The CSM relays that answer.

I fail to see how that makes them an idiot

Pretty toxic to make personal attacks. I am simply stating an opinion about my gameplay preferences. Orca mining was nice and relaxing and that’s it. Nothing about wanting more or less. I’m just stating the nerfs are unnecessary

okay you win, the csm is a highly intelligent individual that doesnt fact check. CCP could do so much better on these changes if they simply told us why or what they were trying to accomplish and get input from thousands of actual players. throwing crap on the wall and waiting for reactions just wastes dev efforts and upsets the community that could actually be helping them improve the game. sorry if i am expecting too much from either the CSM or CCP, but i do pay to play this game, and i expect more for my money than what they have provided recently.

UN UNERF THE ORCA

You know the CSM can’t make CCP do anything right?

And as far as fact checking goes. Kinda difficult without getting access to the code which CCP isn’t going to give them.

This is at CCP’s door. Attacking a CSM for relaying information as per their job description is way out of line

They even mine the same amount now.

my point was that if the CSM rep had ever worked with a rorqual doing compression, they would have known CCP was blowing smoke. i find it hard to comprehend someone representing players that has nevere been exposed to that game mechanic.
but i do agree, the CSM has no control and only marginal input. it just bothers me when they get on podcasts and spout the CCP line even when it is clearly not true

But isn’t it a module now? Which is a totally different mechanic so it works on more than just the Rorq.

Completely different code.

Why they made the change is obviously questionable but because they made the change I can buy that they ran into a coding issue.

Hello Garrett, thanks for your response to my mildly acerbic offering.

I’ve quoted what I said in full, above, so that you can illustrate for me what it is you find to be toxic in my exploration of your post.

You were asserting your gameplay preferences; I merely wished to have them clear in my own mind, so that I understood you.

The remainder of my post addressed a wider issue about folks’ behaviour under the cosh of disappointment.

If, by my seeking clarification, your sensibilities have been ruffled, I excuse myself on the grounds that they matter to me not one jot.

you can relax now, Garrett…

because it is a module just makes it worse, read the eariler posts.

to clarify.
the process the rorqual uses requires very little of the boosting pilot other than to have the core engaged and keep fuel in the hangar. The minders are responsible for the compression function and keeping their ore straight. this allows the boosting pilot to operate other alts in the fleet as haulers, miners, combat cover. no rorqual pilot would ever operate AFK in any small group or solo environment (to CCP point, the real issue with rorqs is the locust fleets)
’
in the proposed method, the booster pilot becomes actively engaged in the compression process and the timing and management become his problem and not that of the miners. in other words he now has a job that he did not have before that provides no benefit to him, but he is the one that must skill for it and provide the ship for it. at the same time he loses the time availability to operate alts in a meaningful way. clearly a job for an altruist. the actual mechanism is clumsy , takes too long and the storage is too small to be effective for even a small group. if they are going to do this anyway. they need to increase the size of the storage , eliminate the cycle time, allow the miners to deposit, activate, and remove their results. even though there will still be gripes about wastage, at least the methodology is already in game, proven, and can be accepted.

sorry for the wall of tex

Just finishet skilling and building Rorqual :-)…Just sad

Oh man. Whether it’s worse is irrelevant.

What we are discussing is why the CSM is an “idiot” for relaying ccps explanation of why there is a problem coding a completely new mechanic.

So CCP changed it and made it worse. The CSM asked about it. CCP explained why it doesn’t work in the way players want. The CSM communicates that. And you call the CSM an idiot.

Nothing to see here

every one miner, who i ask you about future mining patch, says patch is ok, only GOONS cries about it.

A good set of points, though as someone that’s helped out (under other characters) with the group that this is rather on-the-nose describing, they’d likely help Newbie Joe here understand it all better, including how to get better yield even if it’s sacrificing a meta module. Heck, positive education of newbies would help here, and these changes are a good chance for groups like this to shine - particularly in providing valuable instruction to newer players.

Getting to your core question further down-post, Joe should absolutely be considered an inefficiency, and he can be helped through this with good hands-on involvement such as groups like this give, rather than being turned away with a flat no by a larger bloc. It’s here that I myself see the mindset of newer players being harmful appearing - not necessarily from CCP, but from those players and groups already well-entrenched.
