nah, its just a joke, Fenris won’t even remotely consider that.
Not only Massmultiboxers but also the large alliances FCs simply need those mechanics to coordinate their army of F1 grunts that often barely understand the combat situation and are already at their limits to follow simple orders like “lock up what is broadcasted!, activate guns on it!”
It’s a shame we came that far, but its simply a lot less effort and more convenience for the large blocks than to actually teach their members how to properly fight.
It just amazes me how there can be so many harsh and confident opinions by people who obviously never have been F1 monkeys in 0.0 fleet warfare. And their conclusion is that “obviously” everyone must be committing crimes and uses broadcasting software.
If everyone would just register two to three accounts and put them in a fleet and just used and exercised ALL of the fleet functions in the two fleet menu windows and ALL the right-click menus on objects, i guess a lot of education would be had.
Before you accuse anyone of botting and input broadcasting, you should have at least a grasp of the basic EVE online mechanics. In this case fleet mechanics. All of them. Not just bonus giving and fleet warping.
There are additional functions all over the place. There are also tabs.
As well as the already mentioned concept of “weapon grouping and priming”, which you also might not come across as a single player.
Most of the things you have to experience in action to know how to utilize them. Without training you don’t know that you can ctrl-click on a broadcasted target to lock it and such things. Also i did not even mention more advanced topics like the “Micro Jump Field Generator” since these are not allowed in highsec.
EVE is a hard game to learn no matter how hard FC, CCP tried to make it easier. That the player base that still remains seems to have shifted to this type of gameplay was unforeseeable at the time? Don’t know, just asking.
Adapt or die, right? Either beat ‘em or join ‘em… I’ve been multiboxing on and off for years (since 2013). At one point I had 5 accounts but I’m down to 3 now. Maybe I’ll resurrect the other two one of these days…
I only used my 3 accts for combat/scouts a 1st. (and yes, for the last time you can fly 3 combat toons a once) After 14 and I was forced to go Ronan, scouts turned into pi whores in a wh. 3.5 bil every 3 days. The most fun was running that up the old and new pipe while drunk when the timing made it a weekend! Sure, I could have held off until a weekday, but what fun would that be!
If multiboxing is your thing, you could just put that line into your macro key on the mouse or keyboard. Or is that against the rules to own a Logitech mouse & keyboards in game?
It is, in fact, against the rules to use any mechanism to send multiple commands to the client with a single keystroke/click/press/etc, regardless of what it is. Keyboard/mouse macro, voice attack, AHK, doesn’t matter.
The enforceability of the rule is questionable, but that’s the rule.
Thank you for the information. Since they were discussing bots, I never classify macro shortcuts as bots. I hope you understand the significant difference, botters can be AFK and use 3rd party software. A macro is for accessibility and some games allow for mice and keyboards.
I do, but they’re both disallowed according to Eve’s rules, and I think that’s basically the best approach because the alternative would result in a lot of tedious hairsplitting between “allowed” macro usage and “disallowed” botting.
EVE’s been dying for 23 years now, most of which had mass multiboxing. It’s not worse than it was a few years ago even. I don’t like multiboxing myself, but I don’t go around saying that EVE doing worse than it was.
I agree they should have thought about this before they allowed multiboxing in this game. I don’t know a multiboxer who doesn’t use some kind of windows script or macro to assist them. I play a lot of games and the anti-cheat software activates a warning, telling you to turn off certain software.
How new is this multiboxing rule in EVE? Is there any chance they will remove it in the future? The only reason to get another omega sub would be to fleet up with your alt, adding fire power and support.
