Game doesn't start after selecting account

Hi, long time eve player here. I recently got a new computer and so downloaded eve to it using the website. I’ve added my accounts but when I select any one of them nothing happens. If I open the task manager I can see the exefile but no actual windows show up.

I’ve done the following:

1. verified the cache files (no issues found)
2. run log lite (lots of things come up but only one red level and that’s just the game starting)
3. Restarted the computer a few times

What else should I try?

Nevermind I found the issue. Apparently the game client was trying to download something and I had steam in the background downloading a game. Once I paused that, the game client started right up.
