Not really, no.
Here’s an example perspective: Anyone who whines about ganking should immediately be banned from the game and have their accounts deleted.
Does that idea have merit? No.
Is it worth discussing the pros and cons of it? No.
Should people waste their lives arguing whether or not it’s a worthwhile idea for CCP to pursue? Still no.
Why would you discard someones perspective?
Just because you disagree with it?
I’d wonder why someone is whining about ganking in the first place?
Dropping the ban hammer on someone because they voice their opinion is pretty drastic in any circumstance. Deleting their accounts? Why?
It’s extreme thoughts and actions that truley limit and restrict ones ability to experience anything.
Like it or not, EvE is not made up entirely of PVP players. There is a sizable number of PVE only players that do actually contribute to content aside from being meat for the PVP grinder.
Because they’re inexperienced and don’t know how to stay safe and instead of improving their game knowledge and fitting ships better, they come here and demand CCP change the game to suit their incompetence. That’s why.
So you feel that people in high sec should be experienced from day one.
You do realize that high sec is mainly where players gain experience so they can then venture off into low and null sec…
I am going to leave the forums for a bit.
I’m going to wait and see if anyone else has something to contribute to the thread.
It’s obvious at this stage that gankers, some pilots in TEST, CODE, etc do not like the idea of preventing tethering for outlaws.
Got it.
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the PvE aspects of Eve. But it is not a PvE only game. Indeed, I strongly assert that Eve’s masterful blending of PvE and PvP is one the main reasons why the game is so great.
For some reason, however, some of the people on the ends of the PvE/PvP spectrum keep advocating for the (explicit or effective) removal of other people’s play styles. You got things like care bears asking for permanent green safeties, and hard core PvP’ers who act like like isk grinding is an evil corrupting force on the player base and the game. But the truth of the matter is that Eve is a sandbox that caters to a wide range of players. Different players enjoy different aspects of the game for different reasons. And I think that’s a good thing. Not only does this increase the social critical mass of a niche game, but it also, imho, makes New Eden a far more diverse and interesting place.
And I could go on. I could talk about how risk of PvP and emergent game play opportunities elevate Eve’s PvE, or talk about how the plethora of activities and play styles helps to keep the game fresh for long time players. But, this is turning into a wall of text, and I’ve got ■■■■ to do.
Ganking sucks. Awoxing sucks, LS and NS and J-Space is there for all the angry aggressive types.
HS should be for trade and learning the mechanics of the game so people can become better players.
Criminal activity in HS should be met with much more harsh and immediate response by Concord AND faction police.
Tethering should not be allowed for criminals or outlaws. It should be treated the same as another player boosting a criminal in HS, the corp that owns the structure should also lose standings for such action and the entire corp should be flagged as outlaws once the corp average standing drops too low. Outlaw corps, ones with low standing with the faction whose space they are in, should not even be able to anchor a structure in that space, let alone use it to aid outlaws.
I say you force all PVP players to LS, NS and JS and restrict HS to players with sec status greater than -2. (Allowing for mission standing decreases).
Then to keep the game balance nothing in highsec generates any isk whatsoever, there are no obtainable materials for building anything, etc. PVP keeps the economy balanced and any space that is risk free should be reward free. HS is currently way too safe compared to its reward after all the nerfs and pandering to whiners.
