A solution that involves people NOT playing the game, is utterly stupid and counter-productive.
We are talking about a handful of people. If a handful of people take a 15-20 minute break…the world will not end. In fact, it might be good for them.
They use those characters in hisec, they don’t go to lowsec to farm the tags and due to risk/reward balance in hisec they are not going to be able to fund that as well as a Talos loss. You seem to forget that when you are plump and dripping with ISK from your ganks.
A lot of those characters have a role in their indy too.
So while you find it surprising, I don’t.
It is part of the ganking game, the counter to bumping is a ganking the bumper, and most hisec players just don’t have the characters, ISK and ability to do it.

I don’t really care Salvos. A small handful of people got into a situation where they more or less got caught being lazy…log off. Come back in 5, 10 or 20 minutes. The jerk will be off hassling someone else.
Well the only thing you can do is if the bumper gets on you is log off there and then, it is however a hell of a risk, because if they can probe you down and get aggro on you then you are toast. I would do it but I would have another character in system to check to see if the freighter was still on grid or on D-scan if it managed to actually warp.
But still the end game to counter bumping is do not do courier contratcs, and if you see a bumper on gate, dock up and log off. There you go, Eve gameplay…

They want people logging in and playing, not logging out and not playing.

No one ever mentions the FIFTEEN MINUTES OF GCC, which force suicide gankers into staying docked, or being in their pod only. FIFTEEN MINUTES OF LOST PLAY TIME!

I’m not surprised at all tbh. Yeah Im actually making isk as those failures watch and fail to stop me, so I’m not poor. But don’t act like there is anything stopping them but bullcrap excuses otherwise

This has nothing to do with bump mechanics, or a hardcap for it.
About 5 players out of thousands…no they probably don’t care either. And considering they considered this idea then dropped it…nope they don’t care either.
So was getting caught and being bumped…

Yeah, and a player flying a freighter without a scout and without any sort of back up…those were choices too.
I wanted to write something related … but there is just no point in it.
All that matters is that CCP does not care about imaginary issues created by loud mouthing white knights, and THAT we can make sure of.
