Ganking cancer

Yes I agree it is very important to talk in local as much as possible in Wormhole systems

If CCP endorses ganking, what are we doing here?

Ganking

I’ve been wondering that. Why are you here?

The free popcorn. Have you tried it yet?

Gank8ng is in CCP’s best interests.

When I kill a miner, another miner sells a mining ship.

For that reason, ganking is here to stay!

Maybe you don’t understand the mechanics? Unless a ganker is -5 or less, or has an active suspect or criminal flag, they enjoy CONCORD’s retributive protection, same as anyone else, right up until they pull the trigger with enough combined DPS to alpha their target. There is no second move. Which is why I said, if they disable safeties in hisec, they should have to take a suspect flag. At least that way, if a fleet of catalysts shows up in my mission site, I’m free to open fire before they pull the trigger, and I won’t lose my ship to CONCORD for preemptive self-defense. In a ten-to-one, I’ll probably still lose. Or I might alter their DPS math enough to still be in hull when CONCORD arrives. Either way, I have more options than to spam warp.

Understandably, no ganker would want the above change, because their gameplay depends on having the first mover advantage in an engagement. They aren’t looking for a fight. They’re executing an ambush. (That’s not disparagement by the way, just a statement of fact.) Their strategy requires flying disposable ships, selecting predictable targets, carefully timing their engagements, and not worrying about someone shooting back or shooting first before the target is destroyed.

I respect the hustle (honestly, I do). I just find the asymmetric gameplay somewhat unbalanced (speaking as a not-a-ganker).

Well put! But the lazy will still die.

interesting idea.. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: @CCP_Affinity @CSM

:ogre:

Make Ag’s Great Again!.

Make Highsec PVP Great Now!

If disabling safety in Hs will trigger a suspect flag. PVP in HS will more fun and wild.

Nullsec/Lowesc players who forgot that their safety are disabled before jumping highsec will be a collateral damage.. Hope there will be no warning. :face_savoring_food:

The baiting will also be chaotic..

As well they should. :smiling_face_with_horns:

CCP allows it, not against the rules.

What’s ā€˜toxic’ in playing the game by the rules?

Why is Ganking Cancer?
Why does this thread even exist in the first place?

I immediately foresee some issues. Let’s say ā€œreal PVPersā€, fighting in low-sec/null-sec/WH. Obviously, safeties are red. Now the pilot jumps to high-sec.

  • Suspect status from nowhere? Now the fight continues in high-sec?
  • Safeties auto-set to green? Now, what if he jumps back?
  • Unable to jump high-sec until you set safeties to green? Might cost you a ship.

In all these cases the result is pretty confusing for players. Not sure CCP would ever touch this.

Well. A warning can pop up before and after they jump in HS + Suspect flag will only be activated after the invulnerability expires.

  1. Few seconds to comprehend and press a button in another dialog window might be the seconds between successful escape and a lossmail.
  2. Another dialog? When i jump to low-sec with Angel Insurgency I already need to confirm two separate dialogs. Especially funny when I’m jumping from low-sec to low-sec and both systems have Angel Insurgency: I still need to confirm a warning.

The Dev’s can figure that out. if theirs a will there’s away.

Let’s just put this to bed now:

Nobody’s messing with safeties.

If there’s any sort of vote on it ever, everyone’s voting against.

Stop arsing about and just play the ball as it sits for ####'s sake.
