Ganking cancer

This is one of the reason Eve-online is fun.. PVP through written words. :slightly_smiling_face:

:face_with_hand_over_mouth: really?

I have chars that have never been ganked in over 3 years…

Because you treat high sec like low sec

Anyone with a brain scouts ahead and knows where the gankers are. Getting caught at your ‘perch’ is the easiest thing in the world to avoid. But people are lazy…and that is why they get ganked.

You haven’t a clue what you are talking about. But that’s par for the course.

You have never been to low sec it seems.

That is classic. Half of the anti-PvP crowd hates the idea of gankers having any profit from their ganks and keeps suggesting a ways how to make profit ganking impossible or non profitable anymore. The other half hates the idea that gankers shoots something that is not profitable.

In reality, they all can’t accept any kind of non-consensual PvP (and they never give consent in first place), they are just not honest about that. It is just excuse, and bad one.

The only way to avoid getting ganked in high sec is to treat it like low sec or dont undock

I have chars with nothing but lowsec kills. Gloria has only around 90 of my 1500 kills in all my chars. My best chars have never posted here and probably never will as I don’t want to sully them.

Then why do you think there is difference in how to fly in low sec and high sec if you dont want to get ganked?

D-SCAN? There is still no Covert Combat probes except if CCP provides one.

The combat probes are technically already covert. Assume by the time you see them on d-scan they have your position

The difference is massive. I will give you a hint. Lowsec “gankers” attacks anything that comes to their gate and if they are well set up, and nowadays all these pipes are well set up, the only counterplay to not get killed is to use ship capable of warping with cloak. Anything else dies. In highsec they need to scan you first to know if it is worth it. And that means you made first mistake of flying something worth to gank, and second that you got scanned - which means your align is over 2 seconds or you don’t have cloak or you didn’t use it and that you didn’t notice the fact of being scanned. And then you need to make third to actually continue your destination and jump to the pipe system from the gate they expect you to.

And don’t get me started about difference of mining in low and high. Have you ever tried to solo mine in lowsec in retriever? Or do PVE? You basically need to dock any time someone appears in local regardless how harmless they look like. If you don’t next thing you see is a Curse or Arazunext to you holding you for 3+ multibox ships. So they all get their juicy killmark. Doing anything in low is cancer unless you are part of well established PvP corp that “owns” it there.

D-Scan is next to useless against a gank. I mean by the time a ship comes within the 14.5 AU range…well, if its doing 4AU per second you’ve got maybe 3 or 4 seconds till it arrives. The best protection against being ganked is intel and patience. Let that hauler in front of you get ganked…and then you can pass through while the gankers are all flashy red and docked up. And so on.

There is no massive difference there

I agree in terms of hauling but mission runners has a different way of surviving.

I can fly with 100 billion in cargo in 1.99align Sunesis through whole highsec in EVE and nobody will ever find out that it is happening and tries to kill me. Hell I can be suspect and I was. I once made a trip from Hatakani to Jita with 18b in Sunesis as suspect. Easy peasy. Now try that in lowsec.

There are solo players in lowsec systems such as Kubinen, with 10,000 solo kills. Undocking at Jita is child’s play compared with undocking there. I’m training Gloria up to be one of those solo players.
