I’ve recently come back to eve and see mining has improved a lot.
Can we please expand on Gas mining. We love gas, be it by farting or smelling it in garage. Gas is gas.
Have gas clouds everywhere like you do with asteroids with many different types.
Make it accessible like you do with asteroid mining rocks in High sec.
Wormhole, Null Sec, Low Sec & High sec do have different gasses but we want more.
They are too too limited in high sec and we don’t bother scanning them.
Given how limited they are in High sec you then end up going low sec and it’s all drained out just about. I use to wormhole gas and it was great but as in terms of logistics and creating stuff it was a kick in the balls and not as fluent as with ore mining/logistics in solo play.
I love the activity, I know it’s very profitable but in terms of operation fluency there are too many hurdles and you end up having your balls tangled, compared to ore mining/industry. Unless I am doing something wrong.
I like gas, love how it is not accessible everywhere and in HS space.
Gas mining is one of the only ways a new solo Venture miner can make good ISK and that is because it isn’t all the things you want it to be: easily available and in HS.
The last time, CCP made gas more accessible and used for more things than their original niche, they wrecked everything related to gas. They crashed prices, crashed the booster market, made the industry that required the gas now way more complicated and expensive. Then they abandoned this failure of a plan from one day to the next and wrecked the gas market even more.
Gas is only profitable because it is not readily, easily and abundantly available.
Gas is not that rare in highsec if you know where too look.
It is good as it is though. Dont need to change it.
Go to lowsec. There is plenty of gas too.
Go to Derelik…three flavors of gas spawn in high and low sec there. It’s quiet and you should have some success. Logistics will be a pain but that’s the tradeoff for finding more gas.
