Hello, there are people on the forum who is gaslighting everyone. Should moderators do more to prevent this?
If yes what can they do? What is a good solution? Most people avoid forums with rampant gas lighting

Danger signs of someone trying to gaslight:
I don’t think it’s intentional. Some players have just been on the forums for a long time, and have no doubt read numerous ideas and suggestions for the same subject.
make A SINGLE reply, in wich you are professional, straight to the point in a calm manner.
this usually shuts them up, and if not, do no respond again as you already said what’s needed to be said. If you keep the conversation going, you getting on to the same level and do exactly what they want.
no Mod required, just be an adult, the only way to win the game of trolls is not to play it.
Use NVC, it’s one of many ways to irradicate ideocracy. A mature person can either react with yes or no. If they say no then find a way to meet their needs. Usually trolls are in need of other things in their life which aren’t met so they resort to trolling to meet those needs.
You can report postings that are against the forum rules. Just do it and a moderator will look at it.
The post above me is a good example of gas lighting. For example he makes it seem as if gas lighting is against the rules without specifically saying it is. But its not against the rules and seems to be out of control.
I’m wondering if my empty replies somehow contribute to this as fuel.
You’re accusing Syzygium of gaslighting?
He’s made more helpful posts on these forums than most. More than me and certainly more than you.
You’re free to report any post you like. The mods will then decide if it’s against forum rules or not.
Gaslighting is not against the rules
If it is not against the rules, what is the problem? Do you want the moderators to take action against people who stick to the rules? That is called “censoring”. Which is an environment most people wouldn’t enjoy. Probably. Unless you are a big fan of North Korea.
Do you see how you are gaslighting rn?
Me: Gaslighitng should probably be against the rules
You: Its not against the rules so what is the problem?
Absolutely not, I am giving helpful advice. There already is a moderation system in place and it works absolutely fine for the overwhelming majority. In fact I am posting here for years and the moderators seem to have found a fine balance between acting on agression/hostilities/trolling but otherwise allowing free speech. Which is a fine thing in my opinion.
You are trying to advocate for “new rules” which would make this place worse. A forum is a place for open discussion and many people with many different viewpoints are allowed to speak here. That is a good thing. If you can’t stand that, leave. If you can’t control your feelings and are overwhelmed by them, leave and learn to control them first. Remember: Offense is taken, not given.
Nobody is forcing you to participate here if you don’t like the rules that exist. Of course you are free to say that you think there is a problem with the rules and they should be changed. But I am free to say that I disagree and that I see no problem with the rules and like to keep them as they are, because I believe the problem is rather on your side than on the forums side.
And yes, I believe thats very honest and constrcutive, even if it might hurt your feelings.
Gaslighting hurts the forum and should not be allowed
So it is usually everyone who disagrees with me is trolling
but now it is everyone who disagrees with me is gaslighting
.
Just curious
Then stop doing it. Be the change you want to see.
Typical gaslighter
– OP
(In other words no matter what you will say or do you will be labeled as a gaslighter by OP.)
Another example of gaslighting is they will play a victim when called out
