A good idea and one that could work, would end up with N+1 in terms of bumpers, but it makes it a bit more difficult. I would be willing to see how that pans out too.
Because of the whole irony. It didn’t remove “emergent gameplay of the ag side” by the way. Ganking wrecks is still possible, It was just too easy and the change made the game more interesting. Recognize that line of reasoning?
Yes, I recognise the reasoning that you pulled out of the hat to try to score a point. The interesting thing about that was it was an I win for AG and it balanced off against the I win called bumping, it got nerfed as soon as people started systematically doing it and very quickly too.
In terms of game balance CCP is expecting people in AG to use something like a Tornado to blap the wreck before it can be looted, because you have to one shot the damn thing to be certain, so while doable in the context of being possible, realistically it is no longer within the possibility of AG to do it and that is ignoring the issue of kill rights and of course security status.
Overall the rebalance of wreck EHP was the right thing to do it, but it took the involvement of a ganker aligned player when AG started to do it to get it implemented which was pretty damn interesting and the real point of it all…
But it gets back to the entire use of small nimble ships, for example using massed catalysts and massed SB’s which are difficult to catch and stop. It was interesting when the gankers tried to stop people from ganking the wreck and they mostly could not, they were really uptight and they had to get it changed, because you know they could not stop it, just like AG. That always makes me laugh.
But in effect it was the one time AG had an I win and it got removed but the I win of bumping is still there, it needs to go or be weakened in some way.
So it gets more “interesting” like wreck ganking?
Simple to answer that, there is no real income in AG, ganking develops an income, so if I use a Tornado to gank the wreck for loot denial I get nothing back, if I gank a freighter and nab the loot I get it back. Thankfully we are seeing more people trying to nab the loot before the gankers. I rather like that.
Freighter ganking is still very doable without bumping, the break even point may increase a bit, but at the end of the day it is entirely in the means of the gankers to do it. Even if the current crop of multi-boxer gankers give it up as too difficult, and they might because sometimes they get into a rut, new people will come along and see all these AP freighters full to the brim with ISK and go I want some of that. I don’t see people having the same drive for ganking wrecks?
So trying to create an equivalence there is not going to fly.
Something I need to say, I keep getting accused of wanting to end ganking, but if any of you think that any change to bumping will end ganking totally across all of hisec, I can only say what the hell are you drinking and I have to wonder about your understanding about the game as a whole.
No one forces you to do it or even suggested everyone should do it. That is all your own fault. It’s hardly valid to cry if some “profession” you guys made up is not profitable.
In the same way wreck ganking is still possible.
That is probably because you show up in every thread that is remotely about ganking and argue for nerfs for years. And then you wonder why people don’t buy the “I just want to make it more interesting” bs.
War is built on money or resources, if you don’t have money or resources you will lose.
If you are trying to compare the two then you are utterly dishonest, ganking produces income whereas AG does not. Are you that simplistic? Actually you are just dishonest like so many of the ganker aligned players. You certainly do not understand game balance at all based on this reply.
Do I, there are at least five threads on going that I have not gone near, I am focussed on bumping because it is an I win. Ganking is in a good place apart from that…
Are people actually still having this argument?
…and omg… hello Drac o/
Kaely, how wonderful to see you back, I hope you are well.
It is going to be interesting in hisec with the changes you might want to hook up with your old gang who are all in PIRAT.
Good to see you back o7
PS This argument about this lame mechanic will not go away.
Unfortunately. Same arguments as always, just a different day.
Welcome back.
Honestly, I don’t really have time to get fully back into Eve right now and commit to anything. Right now, I think I’ll just float around a little when I can and enjoy what’s left of Eve. I wouldn’t mind a little hunting… though I suspect that has changed too.
Good to see you too. I’m glad there are still people on both sides to keep the game interesting.
Sadly CCP did not listen to the part about even a limited watch list facility in terms of being logged in via the locator agent so it is a bit hit and miss there.
Things in hisec might develop in an interesting way, it really depends on the players in my opinion, but the nullsec attitude in hisec when the next patch hits will be interesting.
I am merely floating at the moment myself so not really doing much in game, at least so far, couple of things need to change, one can always hope.
Ahem,
BAWWWWWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK
So I was just in Niarja because someone wanted to make a small donation to the good cause. An incredible spectacle. One guy in a Macharial was bumping freighters left and right. I think easily 12 on the Kaaputunen gate and between bumps he was warping off to the Madirmilire gate where he was juggling another handful of freighters. One of the freighters had been renamed to “I stopped playing this game in April and if you see me I’m still being bumped”. Another pilot was complaining in local that it was way past his bedtime and he had a schoolday tomorrow. Won’t CCP think of the children and ensure that nobody can be bumped past bedtime?
Maybe those freighter pilots should learn to fit their ships…
Hahahah man I love reading posts from someone who thinks they’re much smarter when they actually are in reality and everyone shitting on them
It’s not a coincidence that literally everyone on this forum thinks you’re dumb and wrong on almost everything
Still crying about wreck HP and bumping lollolol
10 mil of cats/thrashers or 2 nados is waaay to expensive I guess
It’s so unbalanced that you can’t use a single 1mil thrasher to pop them anymore
It’s funny you saying you think you’d be the man if they banned bumping. Because we all know you’d be back here the next day saying probe warping should be nerfd if ganking stopped being dead and 30 freighters were dying a day. (It would be even deader)
Keep autism posting all day on this dead forum in a dead game, you’re keeping this section alive I guess
Did you note that I admitted that I don’t have an issue with it being changed as such, but in the way it got changed, it only got changed when AG started blowing up wrecks and you could not stop it, funny that…
You are not smart, well you use game mechanics very well and can do repetitive actions very well, but that does not mean you are smart, it is like declaring yourself an Alpha male, when you should realise that an actual Alpha male does not need to say it. That by it’s own definition defines you as not especially smart.
It is not my fault you bored yourself out of the game by your playstyle.
Look at this:
You made it so for yourself, have fun elsewhere loser.
You should be grateful, it was too easy and this made the game more interesting. Don’t you like a challenge? Maybe some day someone who is better than you and can adapt will come along and starts ganking wrecks again.
My answers are up above as to why it is not going to happen, you might learn something if you read it and engaged your brain. But I doubt it.
It got changed because of people blapping super wrecks you sped
Never said I was (I am tho). Only that you’re really stupid, which everyone is in agreement on here
Oh, you seem salty my dim witted friend
I have fun with everything I do. Do you? Was getting wrecked by code for years fun?
