Thunder Kites take the form of multi-rod arrays, capable of interacting directly with local spacetime in order to produce and exert force across a “skirt” formed between active rods.
Both the Drifters and Triglavian Collective seem to have made ample use of this technology in their respective designs, albeit for far different purposes; the Drifters utilize Thunder Kites for navigation, achieving unmatched vessel agility and turret control, while the Collective has applied the same principles in the containment and harnessed acceleration of the isogen-criticality cradles that fuel their vessels.

Though most of this information has proven impossible to isolate without a more thorough understanding of the methods used to compile it, what little that has been gleaned can be matched to scattered technical records of numerous bygone civilizations.
While the vast majority of these fragments can be linked to recovered pre-Directorate Jove records, a significant number trace far more esoteric parallels - numbering meaningfully among the cryptic Yan Jung and Talocan civilizations. Vexingly, even the far-younger Takmahl are represented in this index, raising many questions as to the true historical role of the Triglav.
