Lore Item Descriptions

o/ fellow capsuleers,

Well it seems that 29/08/2019 00:00 doesn’t mean midnight on the 29th but midnight the day before. Guess I learnt something. So long GM event.

Anyway I had fun diving into the lore, especially the Thukker tribe one, so i wanted to share the result with you. Hope you enjoy the read !

PS : not an English native speaker so i also hope it doesn’t show too much

Skin Valklear :

Present description : None

Proposal :

The Valklears are both the elite forces and the penal battalions of the Minmatar Republic.

Pulled from their cells to this forlorn hope unit, criminals fall off the face of the known universe to serve their sentence and the Minmatar army. Should they survive, they are given freedom and a new identity.

Kings in hell, the majority of them then choose to remain in the military and its world of violence, the Amarrs being henceforth on the receiving end.

Panther :

Present description : Generic Black Ops battleships description

Proposal :

The Panther was designed for mobility and destruction, deep behind enemy lines. Equipped with a portal generator, this vessel is able to bring reinforcements on unsuspecting enemies. Its own short-range jump drive gives him a edge on any asymmetrical warfare.

Developed by the Thukker tribe following its line of covert operation vessels, the Panther borrows from its proven and centuries old experience on nomadic life.

Nonetheless some rumors spread on its unique emphasis on raids and irregular warfare : the least compromising ones point the reputation of the Sekyal renegade caravan known for its scorched-earth and civilian casualties military policy. But some even talk about the Angel Cartel connections with Thukker tribe elements and its possible technological ramifications.

Regardless of the their truth, those hearsays only fuel the fear inspired by those Black Ops battleships lurking in enemy space and their purpose.

Mastodon :

Current description : Deep space transports generic description.

Proposal :

For the space-faring Thukker tribe, mobility has always been the guiding principle of their caravans. Where the other empires developed their deep space transport as a way to secure and increase their profit, the Thukker tribe adapted their industrial and transport ships to face and escape the Amarr occupation.

With survivability as its aim, the Mastodon relies on itself to escape the hazards of space. Equipped with embedded warp core stabilizers and the ability to cloak, the Mastodon can evacuate a space station or supply the front lines in a conflict.

Prowler :

Current description :

Blockade runner transports are the fastest type of industrial available. Utilizing sturdy but lightweight construction materials and sacrificing some cargo space, these haulers are able to reach speeds greater than those of a cruiser while withstanding heavy fire - factors which make them ideal for zipping through dangerous territories with valuable cargo.

Proposal :

Fastest and most nimble blockade runner known in the universe, the Prowler is able to sneak its cargo into the most hostile environment of the cluster. With little defensive abilities, this ship wraps itself in invisibility to warp to safety.

Widely seen a the smugglers’ ship of choice, the prowler also had its heroic moments when participating to the underground railroad allowing the escape of freed slaves from Amarr space.

Developed by the ever sprawling Core Complexion Inc., this design led to accusations of corporate espionage by Thukker Mix, hitherto the leading Minmatar entity on cloaking technologies. The Core Complexion CEO answered disdainfully to those claims “Those claims are untrue and even if they weren’t : it’s no crime to steal from thieves.”

Since this declaration, Prowlers repaired at Thukker space stations have been known to suffer from inexplicable technical malfunctions.

Sleipnir :

Current description :

Generic Command Ship description

Proposal :

Following the row with Concord about the Hurricane commissioning, the Republic Fleet kept on its policy by mandating Boundless Creation to develop a force multiplier support ship based on the Hurricane hull.

Boundless Creation trademark emphasis on firepower gave birth to the Sleipnir class command ship. Geared towards support through its links, its embedded electronics allows it to affect a wider area. On the Tribal Council request, priority was given to bolster Minmatar skirmish warfare policy as well as shield survivability.

Faithful to the Brutor philosophy, the Sleipnir nonetheless kept an high damage capability making it a respected brawler in its own right. Fearsome with auto-cannons and its high damage mitigation, woe upon the enemy who would mistake it for an defenceless support ship. This thoughtless hunter would quickly find himself the hunted.

Claymore :

Current description :

Generic Command Ship description

Proposal :

Following their success with the Typhoon Fleet Issue, Core Completion Inc. saw the market hunger for command ship as an opportunity. Faced with the concurrent Sleipnir hull and at at odds with its Brutor shipwrights, the Sebiestor corporation chose the opposite of their philosophy, some say single mindedness, on firepower.

Core Completion Inc. then enhanced its own creation’s defensive capacity at the expanse of its weaponry. The Claymore inclination is therefore that of a more sturdy if less threatening command ship compared to the Sleipnir. Competing for the same market, both command ships offer the same Command Burst efficiency, sharing the same area of effect as well as an emphasis on shields and skirmishes support.

The Claymore soon became favoured by Minmatar admirals to whom support ships staying power was more important that their contribution to the fleet muscle, the latter being shouldered by other ships.

Breacher :

Present description :

The Breacher’s structure is little more than a fragile scrapheap, but the ship’s missile launcher hard points and superior sensors have placed it among the most valued Minmatar frigates when it comes to long range combat.

Proposal :

Famously described by a Federation Navy officer as “a god-damned Ladar scaffold with a reactor strapped to its ass”, the Breacher sails the battlefield outmanoeuvring its opponents.

A nimble fighter, this frigate relies on its shield and range control to compensate its frail frame.

Developer : we are seven tribe and yet one

Merging Eifyr and Co, Boundless Creation, Thukker Tribe and Core Complexion expertise, the enemies of the Minmatar people will only look down on the Breacher at their own expense. Their own ship will soon become the very scrapheap they thought the Breacher was.

Hound :

Current description : generic stealth bombers description

Proposal :

If the Breacher was seen by those outside of the Republic as a scrapheap torn from the side of a derelict station and strapped with an engine, the Hound doubles down on this frame by adding to it an oversized weaponry worthy of a battleship.

Developed in total secrecy, even kept from the Federation allies, by Boundless Creation with the cover and cooperation of the Republic, the Hound is the quintessence of asymmetrical warfare.

Provided with extensive reduction to the fitting requirement of torpedo launchers and cloaking devices, the Hound is able to punch well above his signature radius. Furthermore as a stealth bomber, it is the only ship able along its counterparts to fit a bomb launcher and use bombs in null security systems.

Swept along by their own momentum, Boundless Creation excelled themselves by improving damage when dealt with explosive ammunition.

Nonetheless, laws of physics still apply to this ship : its frail structure and focus on larger targets make it an easy target and delicacy for other frigates which retained conventional weaponry for their size.

Warrior I :

Loyal robotic companion of Matari pilots, the Warrior I is a cheap drone known for its speed and tracking, even outclassing other Empire more advanced drones in those fields at expanse of damage and structure.

Dealing explosive damage, this fast if frail drone will happily run alongside any enemy, even the fastest ones.

Warrior II :

Developed as a replacement to the common Warrior I, the Warrior sports more damage, defense, speed and tracking that its outdated predecessor.

An excellent bargain for any pilot.

Republic Fleet Warrior :

Introduced by the Republic Fleet, those drones high defense aims to prevent any defanging while keeping the qualities of the Warrior product line. They also boast the best tracking of all known drones across the cluster.

Integrated Warrior :

Experimenting with the integration of parts from rogue drones, this drone was partially a failure. If some performances are improved, they are no breakthrough compared to their less exotic mainline counterparts.

A side effect of the reverse engineering was to split its damage between explosive and kinetic, unlike their mainline counterpart dealing only explosive damage.

Augmented warrior :

This drone has been augmented with so many rogue drone parts that it is unrecognizable from its original design. If this new hybrid presents an unequaled firepower, its tracking remain the same as its Warrior II mainline counterparts and its defense remain under those produced by the Republic Fleet.

A side effect of the reverse engineering was to split its damage between explosive and kinetic, unlike their mainline counterparts dealing only explosive damage.

Hornet EC-300 :

Snubing Gallente supremacy in the drone field, the Caldaris developed the EC-300 as a disgraceful neutralizing weapon.

Flying in the face of all military code of honors, this drone jams the enemy ship preventing it from locking its mothership directly. This light ECM drone itself remains nonetheless prone to be targeted and usually suffers the rightful wrath of the jammed pilot.

Side effects of their use are various : any victory feels hollow, loss of respect from fellow pilots, increased risk of vengeance, complacency leading to a deserved doomfall.

Vespa EC-600 :

Happy with the demoralizing impact of the hornet EC-300 in skirmishes, Caldari engineers decided to double down and introduce a bigger variant for larger scale warfare.

Flying in the face of all military code of honors, this drone jams the enemy ship preventing it from locking its mothership directly. This medium ECM drone itself remains nonetheless prone to be targeted and usually suffers the rightful wrath of the jammed pilot.

Side effects of their use are various : any victory feels hollow, loss of respect from fellow pilots, increased risk of vengeance, complacency leading to a deserved doomfall.

Wasp EC-900 :

Battleships are the pride of their commanding officer. Most of them choose to go down with the ship with a stubborn will to save it or die trying. The Wasp EC-900 render their heroism hollow, adding bottomless insult to fatal injury.

Flying in the face of all military code of honors, this drone jams the enemy ship preventing it from locking its mothership directly. This heavy ECM drone itself remains nonetheless prone to be targeted and usually suffers the rightful wrath of the jammed pilot.

Side effects of their use are various : any victory feels hollow, loss of respect from fellow pilots, increased risk of vengeance and bounties, complacency leading a deserved doomfall.
