Threats are made against players constantly. Nothing has been manufactured.
The whole I don’t need to comment on threats made against other players because i live in a vacuum and haven’t experienced it myself is not a good position to take.
You either agree with that behaviour or you don’t. If you don’t then why is it an issue to say you don’t.
I have been clear. Threats made against other players is unacceptable. I believe that every single one of us can make a difference by calling out this behaviour when we see it and kicking players that undertake this behaviour from corps etc. And yes i get that it can be reported to CCP but then another account is created and off we go again. The only way to truly address this problem is for us, the players, to be clear that it doesn’t stand. And New Eden becomes a better place.
But this is a witch hunt? This is disgusting? How can you keep a straight face?
You are literally in another thread right now saying that Toxic behaviour in eve is a barrier to entry and simultaneously attacking me for saying we as the players should not accept it and call it out. It’s like there are 2 of you playing to different audiences.
The whole reason this discussion is taking place is that certain players are refusing to say this behaviour is unacceptable. And as you have been doing trying to logic an argument that they “don’t need to”
All that does is empower the people doing it into thinking its not a big deal and that there will be no repercussions. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.
WHY am I even being asked this stupid question in the first place ? Who the hell are you to be asking ? Where did I ever say anything to motivate such a question out of the blue ?
Yes…I resent being asked utterly stupid questions by self-proclaimed inquisitors.
You weren’t asked it. Someone else was. At which point you chose to insert yourself into the issue and white knight for them providing declaring such ridiculous things as “online abuse is manufactured”. As such points and counter points have been made in which you have toxically decried toxic behaviour
Yes…and I have to say I am referring to precisely the sort of behaviour yourself and Gix and Destiny have displayed here. I do not think I have ever seen a more disgusting twisting of things than right here.
Well that certainly wasn’t I. So wind your neck in.
My statement on the subject was that leadership in AG should make it clear that such behaviour is not acceptable in their respective organisations. That’s a far cry from accusing every member of AG of being abusive. That’s simply being clear that there will be consequences for players that cross a line
I am putting Gix and Destiny and Etch on permanent ignore. As far as I am concerned you guys no longer exist. Bye. This utterly toxic environment is something I can do without…and I have no intention any further of engaging with the most toxic members of it.
Actually, no, only a few specific individuals who personally engaged in such behavior, directly supported these individuals, or anyone in a position of power or influence who acts as a mouthpiece for the community as a whole.
No one’s questioned the integrity of some random NEPF line member to my knowledge.
And by the way, Githany already spoke up and rebuked this behavior. But I guess that’s why Githany is actually respected, unlike you or Dracvlad.
Oh no, the shiptoasting forum alt put us on ignore!
Better pack up and move on to another game. Our ruse here is done.
Harassment, toxic behaviour, and real-life threats are unacceptable. I’m the so-called leader of the “griefer guild”, and I’ll come right out and say that. Frankly, I don’t know anybody in my alliance or community who makes these kinds of comments. About the worst they do is send emails saying, “Lool, you got DUNKED, loooool!” Most of the time, they don’t even bother to send the email, because they are too busy scouting for targets. They tend to move on very quickly to the next person, and there isn’t any kind of prolonged campaign. Even when they do say something inappropriate, they tend to back down when confronted and will even apologize or change their behaviour.
All the super toxic stuff, the kind of stuff that would actually trigger a real-life police department response, is coming from the miners and the antigankers who support them. For some reason, those people refuse to condemn the behaviour, and instead they hem and haw about how the gankers actually want the abuse, and enjoy the abuse, and provoke the abuse, and deserve the abuse.
It’s almost like the people who PvP in a videogame are actually chill and friendly, and the people who oppose PvP in a videogame are super angry and bitter and filled with inner rage. Ya know? Like you could do a psychological study here.
You can block someone saying offensive things, but you can’t block a physical threat. Blocking a player won’t inhibit their effort to doxx you (even if this successfully happening is an unlikely event in itself). Even reporting a player and getting them banned won’t inhibit their effort to doxx you. Both access to a player and access to a game are easily bypassed by the use of alts, and blocking/banning might just set off the person further.
What does work is having other members of the community intervene to try to explain to that person that such a course of action is categorically wrong on multiple levels, and they should reconsider it. And this is exactly what these people are refusing to do.
Why? Because I have a feeling that deep down inside, they would find it enjoyable if some EVE ganker gets their real-life house burned down by someone who lost a freighter to them.
Nobody should have to offer any position on anything. This is a forum, where people decide for themselves what, and to whom, they respond…not some toxic Inquisition HQ. Nobody has any right to infer anything…as response is not compulsory and every forum in existence gives people the right to ignore stupid questions.
I suppose, since it’s a free and open forum discussion, while you are technically free to not respond to questions or accusations, at the same time others are free to judge you based on your response (or lack thereof).
I was not saying getting tilted was an excuse. Maybe I should clarify that.
If I run my car over a parking spot marker and rip out my gas tank, I’ll be a bit tilted. But that would never excuse me working to find the person who installed that divider.
You and I are on the same page with the doxxing/threats.
Might have been a better angle for them to express.
