Did not catch that one. Was it any good?
I didnât make it either but i imagine you could probably find a video of it on youtube. Iâm just pointing out a fireworks show is far from impossible in the game.
What he wants is for CCP to make a bigger one than that from their side, I guess. If the player one is good enough, you just made my point for me.
Unless Iâm misunderstanding, I should point out the new years laser lights were put on by CCP.
Could be. I have more of social life than to notice. Still, everyone wants more.
There are two types of people, and each thinks the other is utterly wasting their life.
One is and one is not!
Quite, in much the same way that 50% of people are baffled the other 50% wipe either stood up or sat down.
If youâre playing EVE on new yrs nite⌠I think that says it all.
Again, two types of people, each thinks the other is wasting their life.
I think I already answered your question.
Hereâs a little more EVE History for you mate.
Want to know why POS code is still in the game?
Because itâs so intrinsically linked into the rest of the codebase that when CCP tried to remove it after citadels were introduced, the game broke.
I donât mean âa few things unexpectedly went awryâ, I mean the game fundamentally broke.
Fairly solid rumour has it that the POS code was done by a CCP Dev who was pretty, shall we say lackluster at documenting their code.
Said dev later shuffled loose this mortal coil in a tragic vehicle accident.
The remaining devs have been trying to unscramble that code ever since. Whenever they think theyâve got it under control, they try removing it and the game breaks again.
So yes, coding complexity is a large part of why some otherwise great ideas have never been implemented.
CCP has finite resources and quality code takes time and non-trivial effort to develop.
Given the long, long laundry list of stuff that needs fixing, redundant concepts like this one youâre proposing just arent on the radar, especially given we already have festival launchers and fireworks in the game.
If anything, I like Syzâs concept of allowing fireworks to be loaded into any existing turret or launcher. This would neatly fulfill both your idea and mean I can launch fireworks from a ship that doesnât have a spare highslot for the festival launcher.
Iâm pretty sure if they attempted to âfixâ the code for POS or COSMOS agents, a temporal vortex would open up under their headquarters. I mean, they canât even get simple things right half the time. For example, I just did a Caldari career agent on a Caldari toon, and upon completing all of the missions, the agent told me thank you for your loyalty to the Republic. As in, Minmatar RepublicâŚ
Hit for example G+F1 and any weapon in the F1 slot will fire without needing a target. Its an essential sandbox tool. Might be used for something other than gun salutes.
Potential issues:
- What if you have something targeted?
- What if the module on F1 is for example a remote shield rep
- Can the feature be used to cause lag, and if so, should this be a concern
CCP appears to want players using dreads more. âGun salutesâ would help accomplish this.
I will walk myself out
If they want Fireworks, they really should bring some.
There is even a launcher to put on the Fortizar too.
