So far i am struggling to find anything other than egg wrecks. Finally found one last night only to have someone kill it just as i was warping in.
I recommend leaving highsec for this one. No reason not to. You can do it all in frigates. I found 9 eggs in about 45 minutes of hunting them in and around Placid/Black rise. You can hunt them in a pvp fit ship.
The sites themselves can be done in a pvp fit too with a little bit of active tank bling or kiting. Iâve been using a Wolf and it works great.
I would also second a pvp ship. I put an Acolyte II in my Helios just in case I saw one on dscan, and they can actually warp way so you better be able to point it!
I made a few more sites, got a lot more money this time.
I have heard the pods can warp while scrammed. Better to simple kill them quickly.
Total newbro question but having found a pod about 6,000k away from me, is there a quick way to get to it before it warps off? I canât see a way to warp to it and even a fast frigate is taking too long!
Heâs probably at a nearby moon. If you have an overview with moons in it you can switch to that, sort by distance ascending, and warp to the one thatâs closest, or whichever one the mysterious pod is at.
Or hover your mouse over it in space and you should see a pop-up with a warpable object in it about the same distance. Right-click and warp.
As a highsec crab I didnât have a lot of Dscan skill before last years Easter event too. I would look around with my mouse, I would dscan with my mouse, terrible terrible waste of timeâŚ
Create an overview tab with eggs and celestials, i.e planets, moons, stars. Set D-scan to 5 or 15 degree angle. Warp to star, pick a planet in overview, press âCâ (default shortcut for âlook atâ), press âVâ (default shortcut for dscan), next planet. Got an egg - go to the planet, dscan its moons one by one CVCVCVâŚ
You donât have to press C to look at. V automatically looks and scans.
C centers camera on an object selected in the overview.
If you hold V you can click on the celestial and it will look and scan. It is buggy though, sometimes I have to click in space to reset it.
You can click on the overview, on the system map and I would guess it would work with items in space too.
when you have like 50 celestials under 0.1 AU :
set your angle to half sphere(180), and make it so only hafl the celestial are selected.scan, if present filter again those half celestials to a quarter.
Note : this does not always work since the landing spot of a celestial may be actually far from the celestial dscan.
Iâm doing it as follows, first range by binary search if I see an egg on dscan while warping through the system, then click on 5 degree scan on every moon in that range (they are mostly at moons). If the planet is too far to have meaningful 5 degree differences, I warp to the first moon and scan form there.
just spent 20 min looking for sites found no site, but found 8 eggs
incidentally, if you want less competition
color = number of jumps over the last hour (max = red = 150)
size in pixel² is number of NPC kills over the last hour
And yes, aven ha been full for several days.
Yes i know. You can skip it though. Just hold V and click. It centers the camera AND scans with one key. You donât need to press CVCVCV, you can just go VclickVclickVclick.
It has this weird delay. I really wish theyâd fix that. There doesnât seem to be as much of delay if you do it from the system map.
