Haulers need more garanty

My favorite has to be “Caution: Surfaces may be hot” written on the stoves. It’s a stove! I sure hope so!

Edit: Oh, hang on. I forgot about the milk that says it contains milk, and the peanuts that say they were processed in a factory that processes peanuts. I wish these were not literal things I see at work. I want to think we assume people know these facts. If the thing bears the name of what you’re allergic to in giant letters on the tin, maybe don’t eat it?

Thanks all for replies to my post.
I see main thing is this is a game.
This is a game in future.

Ok, i agree.
This is a game in future.
So, i should be able to make a hole on that inaccessible station using my guns and deliver the goods. Yes, you can out war on but still can’t complete mission.

If the station becomes inaccessible after contract accepted, the hauler gets a kill right for the station. Deliver the goods inside the wreck. Mission completed.
That would solve the problem.

Concord can simply ignore just like they ignore triglavians. Fair enough.

If you could make the core idea of this work, people might bite, but the obvious problem with this is that anyone can make a contract to any station, with or without access. This lets anyone assail any non-public station they please with just one contract fee.

And it lets ANYONE get in on the kill, since suspect flags make you vulnerable to EVERYONE.

I see you haven’t dealt with courier companies. Though those shenanigans aren’t scams, just laziness and incompetence.

@Jean_Element did you finally manageged to successfuly haul your things to jita at least once since posting this?

Only a moron accepts player structure hauler contracts from unknowns. Nothing needs to change other than the moron player who fell for the scam.

You sir, are a moron.

Whats the other 10%??

Scams are part of Eve. Eve NEEDS scams.
Scams, alliance thefts, spying… those are the things that makes Eve unique.

If CCP decides that it crosses some line into “exploit” Territory then they need to fix it in game or clearly communicate that it is an exploit.

If the job can’t be completed due to a technicality like no docking permissions the contract should void and they customer needs to either collect their goods or forfeit them. Just like real life!

In all fairness I think requiring a downpayment for deliveries should be possible too. Can haulers set up “to haul” jobs with a maximum freight limit and required upfront value? Similar to what your corp JF might want, some kind of guaranteed up front cash based on m3 and a flat fee for his time.

Only accept contracts that are issued to/from NPC stations, that way you can never be scammed. The game is forever evolving and like any game, people will find ways and means of getting around game mechanics to gain an advantage. Especially with a game like Eve Online.

It may take forever but npc stations will be destructible one day.
The contracting system needs to be able to bear that possibility.

The only thing i would suggest is collateral being determined by the regional average. People often tack on an extra couple hundred or even half a bil to collateral when it’s actually worth about 200mil to begin with.
