Decided to take a break from missioning and do some low-key mining while trying to catch up on current events. I run an Orca + a pair of Skiffs. What do you all run for mining setups? What do you enjoy doing while you pass the timing mining?

I don’t mine much lateIy but if I do it’s on alliance moons or gas.
I fly an Outrider and Viator over to the latest moon pull, unpack my two Mackinaws and if there already are mining links on grid I use two Mackinaws, otherwise it’s Mackinaw + Outrider.
If on-grid compression was a more common sight I’d consider Hulks instead but compression is usually a short warp away in which case Mackinaws are pretty close to Hulks if I pay attention to my ore hold and even better if I don’t.
For gas huffing I’ve got a couple of Prospects.
In the mean time I chat, post on forums/reddit and watch local.

If im solo.
1 porpoise + 1 mackinaw or…
1 orca + 1 mackinaw.
Sometimes, 2 mackinaws by themselves.
But, as mentioned, i usually run in a corp or alliance roid or moon op with 2 mackinaws.

I wouldn’t call it a setup but it feels that way with the Mining Survey Chipset and Mining Surveyor scanner… I use the Venture Consortium Issue. Its ore hold is about as much mining as I can take.

I use an Orca and Skiff when I mine ice and an Orca and Hulk when I mine in a cosmic sig.

Will tell you maybe tomorrow once hopefully the final ruleset for Exordium is published somewhere.
Then i shall maybe do away with any unnecessary tank modules and rigs, plug out my defensive implants and reevaluate the setups for maximum yield.

Don’t forget the new officer mining laser upgrades!
It might take mining 62.5 billion ISK before losing that thing for it to be an efficient buy last time I checked, but that’s peanuts when you cannot die!

When I do rarely mine, I run a procurer. just one ship. I watch local while staying aligned and listening to my playlist.

I’m pretty much maxed on most of the mining skills, though I rarely ever use them.. As for mining ships, I have a Venture, Prospect, Endurance, Pioneer Consortium Issue and Orca…
About the only time I do use those ships is for Events… However I gotta say after completing Tier 2 of the Mining task for Capsuleer Day XXIII event, any interest I had to engage in that content was drastically reduced…
Now when I did do mining, other than be active in various chat channels, I’d check info on all characters that showed up in local and was always ready to warp out if somebody entered the same grid… Yeah, paranoia is a good incentive for staying safe…
And that’s pretty much it, Mining is basically the last type of content I want to engage…
