Everyone is different in some way or another with the reasons for just wanting to log in for an hour or so.
Sometimes I fly just to be out there somewhere where there is zero noise other than the sound of my mwd repeating it’s cycle over and over.

I thought to myself “560 posts!” I wondered what the discussion was like, say, half way through, and clicked randomly, to find that quote .
Yeah, I did give you a figure, but then you asked about mining, which I don’t normally worry about, so I’m still pulling the data to give you a figure.
You could of course go and make the calculations yourself.
You denied other gankers their “freedom of interaction?” Why not just ignore them?
Still reading with the same morbid fascination normally reserved for driving slowly past a car accident. Lor, you are doing fine. Just hang on till the EMT’s arrive.
For the rest of you? The election is in a few days. If you honestly think that you are making a point this deep into the thread? Only a few dedicated souls will EVER make it this far. But go ahead, those who do make love to see you fail to make your point in a brief and salient fashion and, instead, resort to ad hominem attacks.
Anyone remember what the argument is about?

Isn’t it a discussion forum?
If history has shown us anything, it’s that even if Lorelei doesn’t make it on the CSM this year, the same ideas will be posted next year. Why not try to keep discussion going on a platform that would argue for a pretty major change to the game?
I do, and I’m hoping @Lorelei_Ierendi will take up @Solstice_Projekt’s offer and see how ganking already has plenty of way to fail.
As it happens, my first (successful) gank was done in his company.
(I was an inept student.)
It was? When?
What have I forgotten?
How did you rate your experience?
Because I was the legitimate sovereign of Hek, acknowledged and supported by its people.
Might makes Right. I had the might and the people supported my claim.
I did not accept gankers sitting at gates doing nothing but waiting for targets. I demanded that they either did not appear to be afk (simply orbitting the gate would have been sufficient) or I demanded they leave.
Those who didn’t leave learned the lesson one way or another. I’ve made everyone understand that being afk is not being tolerated and my people were fully behind me. I’ve worked hard to get accepted and attacked literally everyone and everything in my path. People loved that! Those who refused to accept it got their asses handed to them.
That’s how one played this game properly. To its fullest extent, not like a worthless stupid peasant slave working for the economy to feed his consumerist desires.
Why should I ignore my fellow players in a role playing game? Ignorance isn’t Strength, you know? Just ignoring everything makes people stupid, isolationist, sad, depressive and makes them tend to seek echo chambers.
Such people are a cancer to any society.
Is it true that Knowledgeminer is running for CSM?
Where do I vote?
He’s not on the list.
Vote for Mike.
He’s seriously the best candidate there is. He might appear to be a carebear, but in actuality he’s more of a Chribba. Sure, technically Chribba is a carebear, but Chribba counts as a class of his own. They’re both trustworthy, honest to the bone and they always care about what’s good for the game without any ■■■■■■■■ political agendas from the powerless, whining bitches.
LOL. No, I don’t.
Besides, imagine if I did and had to reveal whose alt I am…
If we’re talking about semi afk gankers waiting for targets, talking at them and trying to help them see the “larger world” of possibilities that you see, is what I mean, versus stomping on their gameplay choices, or real life distractions that can result in just about anyone aimlessly orbiting a gate for some length of time.
You say EVE is (or was) great because it’s sandbox that you can play any way you want, but seem to want more people to play it just like you. You seek your own echo chamber, of players who are the opposite of “worthless stupid peasant slave working for the economy to feed his consumerist desires” Your wish seems to be a game world filled with nothing but sharks, your equal in attack and evasion. That sounds like a recipe for frustration; wouldn’t that end the game for you? But EVE isn’t like that right now, there are rights to make wrong or wrongs to make right. Something to do, things to complain about. Maybe it’s actually a good game, the way it is right now.
Wow, do you even realize how much of your post you just made up in your head.
It is actually you who wants me to play more like yourself.
I don’t force people to play the game how I want.
It was my territory which I have worked hard for being accepted as the sovereign …
… in a role playing game where might makes right.
This isn’t Real Life.
I’ve played differently than most,
definitely more successfully than you did,
and apparently you dislike that and scream victims and oppression?
So what?
You’re wrong?
■■■■ off?
The fact that most people indeed, without a doubt, are stupid peasant slaves for the economy doesn’t mean that, like the toxic assholes around here, I create thread after thread after thread, filled with post after post after post, declaring that they should be removed, banned, nerfed or whatever.
I don’t send death threats, I don’t wish rape upon them or their family, I don’t give a ■■■■ when they start mailing me their toxic ■■■■. No.
Actually I thought you’re not one of the assholes, but okay.
Have a nice day.
I’m curious, what real life circumstances force you to orbit a gate? I’m kind of new to EVE, but I’ve never had one of these circumstances occur. Under what real life circumstance would I be following the CODE., warping from system to system, and then suddenly feel the urge to click “orbit gate” and go AFK?
Straw man, much? I’m still interested what you might say to the second half of my post.
I’ve already addressed your whole post sufficiently.
Even now, after reading it again, I still see myself clearly addressing it thoroughly.
The problem, again btw, isn’t me.
The problem, again, is you.
I think you misread; the orbiting of a gate wasn’t meant as the player’s intention, but a by-product of a real-life distraction.
I do not endorse this candidate.
Praise James.
But you have not read the whole thread, have you?
