High Sec the New Renter's Space

Compared to other games, the very nature of Eve discourages trust and therefore cooperation and socialisation. And yet the socialist mantra in the forum states that Eve is not a one-player game and if you disagree with this Chinese-style mantra, you are are a carebear and Eve is not your game. No doubt my basic statement of fact will lead to yet another alt being banned. The regularity of such statements being banned is another cause for concern. Eve needs a proper unofficial forum to counter the toxic, politically correct official forum.

You don’t need trust to cooperate with people, you need to understand human nature.

If a metric ton of corporations are getting wardecs why don’t they just form an alliance and use their combined power to protect themselves from the null alliances?

The Dead Sea called, something about some missing salt.

You seem to be misunderstanding how trust works in eve… it’s a currency that’s earned. It’s when folks give it away for free that it starts to lose its value. Even then, you still should take some measures to limit the harm it’s abuse can do to you.

Also, many of the pvp players I’ve encountered are very social bastards. It’s not a single player experience, and if you try to make it one its gonna get super dull rather quickly.

Not everyone wants to fight that’s why.Besides with a steadily declining player count CCP has to cater to more casual players

Aint it the truth.

Then those people that don’t want to fight are being given the option to pay null alliances extortion money. Not every single person needs to join a mutual defense pact, just the people that care and are capable of fighting. You know how to cater to casuals? NPC stations. I hear they’re very easy to get into and provide a whole host of services and protection.

It’s not a good idea. But the entrenched alliances wrongly feel they’re still running the show.

What they don’t get is that Fluffy Penguin could shut this game down and probably come out ahead financially. This dinosaur will make about 1% of the income that even a bad mobile version will make.

It’s actually been kind of fun watching as they ever so slowly are coming to realize that the game they used to rule with impunity is on it’s way out as they knew it. The new overlords don’t give a ■■■■ about who these whiny snowflakes are and what they feel they’ve done for the game. They care about ROI.

It’s not a huge deal people will still welcome being wardec free and use structures further away from hubs which are not targeted as much.For example Corp A has no structures but has an alt Corp B with structures Corp B has only structures and few alts to fuel stuff maybe while Corp A can grow it’s player base in safety

Honestly i’m rather appalled that threads like this are popping up in the wake of these new changes.
CCP is literally making every Corporation that doesn’t own a structure immune to war declaration because they’re implementing this in reverse of how it ought to be.

The fact it took this long to look at it shows how little they care for the game.I wouldn’t be surprised if PA requested they look into what’s stoping/causing newer players to leave game before they get more invested and put a stop or reduce the griefing.
Mark my words suicide ganking is next

I’m thinking suicide ganking will likely spike in the wake of the, as it will become the only punitive recourse left available for dealing with insipid little shitlords emboldened to clog up the channels and forum with their drivel.

Maybe and then it’ll be nerfed.Or maybe they’ll do it right away

I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

The best way to deal with null alliances sticking their nose into high sec, is just create alts and go cloaky camp their systems in null. Extort the null bears right back, then the real whining will start.

I don’t think I have ever heard of a cloaky camper thread on these forums. s/

You must be new around here. Yes please nerf cloaky camping too

I dunno. As a sandbox, players should be free to create their own emergent gameplay. You always have NPC stations as a fallback if you lack access to structures. If you do want to put up a structure, either prepare to defend it or allow for its eventual demise.

But… but… EFFORT!
And friends.
Unreasonable.

I think this also reinforces how boring null sec has become, that they need to move to high to find content. I spent about a year and a half in null and it was by far my most boring time in EVE.

This thread is going out of rails now. WarDec is important, but the OP is talking about ‘hi-sec renter space’. Off course, the new WarDec system will help small and casual groups with their corporations, but it also allows bigger entities to make corporation formations with similar abilities to NPC corporations.

New WarDec changes allows player corporations to be:

  • immune for WarDecs, if they haven’t a structure;

  • no taxation;

  • central UI organization and management, including that Mining Ledger.

Players can build big managed multi-box mining fleets being in a corporation without structures and stack ore to one of their Citadel under another corporation flag. To avoiding WarDec is possible with current system even by changing corporations, but on Meta level it’s annoying and requires too much time to organize. I want to say that for small groups the new WarDec system gives very little, while for groups interested into such kind of renting - great opportunities. New WarDec just is designed to establish such kind of a managed hi-sec renting space.

As I suggested previously, there must be some sort of a small Citadel, which is immune for WarDecs under a corporation banner - Small Raitaru (1%, 5%, 2%, 25%), for example. To anchor and support such a structure, players should pay an addition weekly tax to CONCORD. Casual players should be able to built their own little sand castle.
