moving a 500 000 m³ fitted chip containing all you want, worth 500M isk , on 30 jumps in HS (I assume that covers all HS systems) will cost you less than 30M. 50M will ensure people will do it faster enough. just create your contract, and publish it in the haulers channel ingame.
edi : just checked and BS packaged are 50 000 m³ so fully fitted it’s like 55 000 m³ , for 25M you re good to go.
That’s a pretty big change you’re suggesting! I get the pain you feel as well, EVE is big and travel times are long, but I think that’s by design. Adding a “quick travel” option into the game, even if it’s severely limited, would make the EVE universe feel smaller.
The only reason multiple trade hubs exist in EVE is due to the travel times between them. If someone could travel to and from high-sec systems instantly there would only be one market. Players and corps also have “home systems” and those are often chosen strategically with travel in mind. Some want to exist near hubs or trade-routes. Other want to be far away from them. Instant travel anywhere in high-sec eliminates the requirement to choose a home system strategically. Essentially, all of high-sec becomes one consolidated system.
Currently, people “living” out of Uminas would have their own local community and the players 23 jumps away in Mazitah would also have their own local community. The people and corps in those systems are different. The ships flown and the resources collected and consumed are different. Popular items bought and sold in those areas would be different. However, the people who call Inaya “home” are right next to Uminas. Their markets, players, and local community are the same. An instant jump between anywhere high-sec means Uminas and Mazitah would be, in effect, right next to each other and their local communities would become amalgamated.
“time for that” ? dafuck ? Why would you spend time for something that is not worth it ?
As I wrote above, it costs 50M at max to move your BS on 30j in HS. It’s like a 10% additional price to have your ship delivered wherever you want. how comes you even complain about that ridiculous small price ?
I just meant to consider making the list of necessary limitations.
A full confutatio is for lawyers preparing for a court case The practical recommendation you get in a presentation class is to normally prepare only for the most obvious objections. In rhetorics they also say to consider refuting some objections as part of presenting the idea/argument, but you’re right about forums - it can make the posts too long.
Anyway, in here, you’re 100% certain to get multiple people claiming that the opportunity for abuse makes the suggestion useless, hence the list of limitations. I guess it’s an EVE thing, because it even happens with suggestions that mostly benefit nullBears
Well, for clones i would have to say something too, but let me say something on what u are suggesting:
If I log into Eve now and decide to go level 4 missionining, right now my character is docked in a wreathe in an 0.8 system. I would have to find my nearest level 4 ready battleship, which may not be my preferred one, and then travel to that location.
Next I would have to fly the ship to the level 4 agent before I can begin. How many jumps is that in total?
The most efficient way is to not move too far from your agent, stick your ship there. Buy other ones and place those in the other agents stations if those are really far ( >10 jumps, depend on how much isk u have for buying ships/ time to move).
Also what if I need to change clones to get the max out of my ship?
In citadels u can swap your clones without cooldowns, just stick your preferred one for lv4 mission there and use a travel one for moving between systems with a fast ship
And what if you don’t have enough ammo or need a new module? Then it’s to Jita or the nearest hub? And what ship will you fly to that hub? Is it fast enough? Does it have enough cargo space?
Most of the time there’s plenty of ammo in lv4 mission hubs, people gain a lot of money selling ammo to mission runners. If there’s not so much, haul what u need with a lot of spares and put it on sale there at jita buy. People will be happy and you will have also a passive income.
What a logistical nightmare.
But it’s something we all do everytime we are on Eve, without thinking about it. We spend hours on logistics rather than having fun playing.
You can say the logistics is part of the game or fun? At times and in certain situations yes. But when all you wanna do is log on to have fun and earn money it can be a bore.
Logistic is not a part of the game. IS the backbone of the game. Someone have builded your hull and hauled where u have buyed it, same thing for ammo/modules. Someone have farmed the meta/faction modules too and hauled those in Jita for get some money, passing between gankers and maybe WT. Without someone having fun doing logistic stuff no one will be there doing pvp or pve. People are doing this for let u log on and have fun without thinking about logistics. If u need something around , put a buy order at a bit more than jita price, someone will look at it.
I suggest the following:
Put all clones in a central clone archive. My clone of choice can be automatically downloaded wherever I am.
Remove the clone jumping facility.
Introduce a new insta-jump charge for high-sec ships. I can use up to 5 charges a day to take me and my ship to a station or location literally anywhere in high-sec. The further the distance the more charges are needed.
This point, in fact, is a thing that have let me thinked on a bit. Maybe InterBus, now that all his POCOs have been removed from all Eve and its simply sucking isk from CONCORD wallet, need a new work. Let InterBus haul clones where u need to!
Just place a jump clone in a CONCORD station (or add an InterBus station in Ouprapeh) where u can set a npc station as destination and Interbus will haul your clone there! They will use always the shortest route, and fees will grow up with jumps and sec. status of the system where u are traveling. The time that take for doing the haul will be as long as pod-traveling but u dont need to do it personally. And can also work for hauling pods in null-sec!
In my alliance I know several people who’ve made it their entire jobs to operate freight services.
Instead of trying to shoehorn in a very abusable and clearly meant as a “please make my game easier for me so that I don’t have to get better” type of request, why don’t you just contract your freight work to people in the game who already do such services?
Then maybe you should, since you want a mindless game where basic competence is rewarded with “YOUR THE BEST HERO EVAR” and you can skip straight to the (boring as hell) combat. EVE is a game where you have to work for success, and it is clearly not the game for you.
