+ It feels modern. The old one was stuck in 2000 8-bit gif era.

+ Mobile friendly.
- Posts on the left side instead of right, hurts my eyes but I guess easier to use a thumb to slide.
- Slider on the right takes 1/3 of the screen, a lot of empty space around it
- Font too big. Or too tall. Or too bright. Idk, it feels odd.
- Mobile friendly
*forum doesn’t handle special characters, had to use html code to display the pluses and minuses.

Discourse’s slider is necessary if you want to have any hope of getting around a large thread. It serves a purpose, specifically, suppressing the loading of posts between the one you are on and the one you are going to until you release it. The browser’s slider isn’t accurate because there’s roughly 20 posts loaded at a time. and posts are injected into the DOM and removed as you approach the top or bottom of that set.
I noticed the forum has no typical page system just now. So the slider is necessary I guess.
Can it be a bit smaller or better scale up with screen width tho? Don’t need so much empty space around it…
You need to switch to the experimental wide theme.
