How can i just play the PVE side of the game?

My pleasure young gun!

Stay safe & stay allways High and enjoy the relaxing and fun experience of PVEVE !

If you want to feel like youre flying youre ship try to sometimes pilot as in 1st perspective when you fight it feels intense , you can steer with arrow keys and it feels like your actually FLYING the ship , not just clicking around.

But learn this in a safe place like some low combat anom in High sec , don’t try to learn it in security missions !

The game became almost unplayable when I entered Jita. Went to Dodixie, no issues.
Jita on avoidance list.

Thats cool !

There might be no response since i don’t trust anyone , dont take it personally :).

That’s one thing we have in common.

easy answer … undock and do PvE !

learn the game mechanics and you never get ganked ! dont be stupid and dont be lazy … but i assume you want to be lazy

simple answer again … dont fear any ganker ! as soon as you undock you need to know your ship is a wreck ! if you can prevent it for a long time then its good … if not then learn about your mistakes !

you dont need to if you dont want to ! but eve is a PvP game so if someone decide youre a “victim” then you are the “victim” until youre not lazy and stupid !

no shiney ships ! use all the ingame tools CCP gave you to see what happens around you !

if you want, you can ! you only need to know how ! if i´m doing HS missions i´m avoiding PvP all day long ! i never was ganked in my mission ships !

Hello @Prototype041

I started playing back in August. While you cannot avoid PvP in an open world PvP game, it is possible to enjoy the game here. Take a look at my record this is the total ships I have lost to other players since starting the game. I have also remained an alpha player, mined ore and gas, and built my first station on November 22nd. I am back up to over 1 billion ISK again and planning my next station to be constructed sometime after the new year.

I was invited here by a good friend ( who just showed me the ropes ) then I watched several hours of YouTube videos, and I played very causally. There is no big secret to avoid getting ganked. Just be aware of your surroundings. You will note, all my ships that were destroyed, happened in low sec. Hauling your ores through low sec is almost unavoidable. I was told to only fly what you can afford to lose.

Personally I have found mining to be akin to watching paint dry. Often - just like yesterday - I will get distracted or have to leave the miner to their fate. However attacks don’t often occur in low sec as one might assume. I will be scooping gas in 0.4 low sec and my sister will visit and we get to talking and I will either have a load finished or be dead. A venture mining ship is easy to replace when the value of 1 load of ore can purchase 5 more.

I am not a veteran and I do not cower in high sec. I explore, mine, and build, I would recommend you think of the players who attack you as advanced versions of NPCs - what they call rats here - and stop trying to play the game in easy mode. It is meant to be a challenge.

Hi @Prototype041

There’s quite a few good tips already in this thread. If I had to make a short list it would look like this:

  1. set known ganking corps/alliances/individuals to a negative standing, so they’re easy to spot on local
  2. organize your user interface for maximum safety: have your local chat in a separate window, have your dscan window open (I keep mine stacked in a chat stack), make sure you use the correct filters for the dscan
  3. avoid areas on the map with high rates of ganking (known trade routes mostly)
  4. move to calm parts of the map (use any means to figure those out, the map itself colored for # of jumps, intel tools like eveeye, smt, dotlan, even the monthly economic report)
  5. organize your logistics (moving goods to and from places you trade) to minimize risk, if need be plant an alt to scout for your main. If you’re in a corp that can be wardec’d, make sure it’s a neutral alt.
  6. always keep an eye on what’s happening in local (see point 2), and keep dscanning to stay aware of what goes in your vicinity - especially during events…
  7. directional scanning (dscan) is your life saver
  8. directional scanning etc
  9. thorough knowledge of game mechanics in hisec (some rules are very weird), to avoid making mistakes that make you a legitimate target
  10. when in any doubt → get safe ! You’re fit for pve, the one coming after you is fit for pvp …
  11. always think ahead, what are you going to do and where are you going to warp when something does happen
  12. learn not to panic, accept that losses will occur eventually and learn from losses (maybe even talk to the attacker to learn how he was successful in finding you and blowing up your ship)

All that being said, here’s my best tip - saved it for last because you don’t want to discuss pvp  - learn to hunt down players, it’s the best way to gain insight in how it works and how people may be looking for you (it includes dscanning too, lol), and how to avoid that. A fairly easy and safe way of getting into hunting others is by using covops ships with covops cloaks.

Hi Rose Ivory are you a lowsec Princess?

This excites me to even think of you Princess being a gas miner/hauler.
Come over to General Description and let’s discuss that mining is way better than watching paint dry!
