Create a blank space in chat, I mean. I’ve tried a few things, but nothing so far has replicated this.

The trick is to use something like a dot at the start, many enters in between (shift enter to not send yet) and finish with another dot.
I often used such empty text blocks to clear local chat from scam contracts when we had a regular local scam spammer. Killing them is fun, but doesn’t help as they’re not flying anything worth killing, ignoring them works but only for yourself. Making their message disappear means their effort is in vein.
