Oh nice, CCP did add a toggle for it? I should turn it off.
For some reason every time I get that cinematic I’m in a hurry to fit my new ship while the rest of the fleet is undocking and try to Escape out of it only to bring up the settings instead of closing the cinematic.
You should only get the cinematic the very first time you board a new ship you haven’t flown before.

Indeed.
It’s surprising how many ships I try to board that I haven’t flown before right when a fleet starts. Half a dozen times in the past couple of weeks.
“Oh you’re fighting and need more Kikis? I can fly one of those!”

With hundreds of ships in the game and a character that can fly all subcaps this is bound to happen much more often, I expect, but eventually this problem solves itself.

I’d imagine its all stored in cache…and EVE’s ability to lose your cache and settings is legendary.
If you hit escape twice it works as it closes the cinematic and then closes the settings screen back to gameplay.
