Just wondering if you guys also know how to rip the character models from the game? Was looking to use the Steam Program FaceRig for Streaming on Twitch but need a way to export the characters. http://store.steampowered.com/app/274920/FaceRig/
Any Ideas what program I would need and where the character 3dās are kept?
Iād love to hear an official answer. So far Iāve assumed the character models are transmitted from the server on the fly and donāt exist on your computer at all.
In a way Iāve pursued 3D art and animation as a career choice as a result of wanting to interact with my characters more.
CCP if my character models are on my computer Iād love to use them in machinima short movies along with environments and the whole 3D production shebang.
As it is my demo reel will be an adventure involving my characters and some EVE assets like ships. Having character models available would make the process much easier. They will be rigged, animated, and have voice acting.
You know, stay tuned like 2 years from now but still. Character models would be great.
Haha, yes there is Papakura. I used it for few models of anime characters. The hard part is you have to cut these shapes out yourself and glue them together. Its the most labor intensive and the longest part, and i dare say the hardest because you just have to sit there with scissors or some sharp, precise knife like modelers knife and carefully, painstakingly work on every detail, and then glue goes not where you want it to be or parts slip and its hard to bring shapes together.
3D printing is the future, I think you can buy 3d prints from net.
Like from here: Upload Your 3D Print Designs to 3D Print - Shapeways
There may be also some local stores like that, I think.
I tried to covince them on forums together with some people few years ago, but it turns out its just a generic head that is modified with some kind of coordinates, and those coordinates make you in the game.
Then I just sculpted face in Blender, using the avatar portraits done from many directions.
yeah I figured. :-/
I know almost noting about 3d modeling; Can someone give me a step by step guide for @Neuntausendās shader? I donāt know what the instructions in itās forum are telling me to do.
Ah, never mind. I figured it out myself. Another question: How do I know what colors and values to use? Is it somewhere in the files I can access with TriExporter?
Can anyone help me get a phantasm file? the one i found natans list is missing all its spikes and is real low polly
Yeahhhh, donāt know what happened there, I re-converted the Phantasm and the Revanant fixing the spike issue, but the models from CCP are still low poly
Iāve noticed a lot of them require some retouching. Are you sure itās not lowpoly but rather the regular model without the full edge hardening applied
I think the character models are built on the fly to make you profile pic, and not retained when not being used. Thatās the way it feels to me.
I always like the few funny EvE machinima there is out there
Iāve actually managed to find them in TriExporter. There is a ton of assets located under :
graphics > character > [files]
and I found instructions on how to use them here: http://cargocollective.com/ThomasM/Eve-2-Unreal-UDK-Characters
Thatās awesome. I canāt wait to see what u come up with
Ya that was made in HF2 Engine though. And no ingame avatars were used or harmed in the making of this video.
Thank-You!!! This is what I was looking for. Alot to learn but thank-you for the links.
