How To Handle 'PvE Only'

Give a man enough rope and he will eventually trip over it?

Dunno MB.

Ah. Same stuff though. That one escaped my trawl. I can’t be bothered to be too diligent about it.

I’d cringe if I found myself about to type something like that.

I ■■■■ post more than I should but never claim to be more than I am.

Just checking/curious. I like your new alt!

Since when was the thread about what is favourable to you personally ? Every thread seems to get hijacked by by the cult of Lucas and his 100 alts, pretending to care sooooo much about noobs and what is good for the game…when really all we are getting is a 700 post diatribe about what would make your game nicer, and the sheer pretence that this is a ‘discussion’ when you show zero sign of listening to what anyone else says.

As you wish good troll.

Edit; Flag incoming?

Isn’t his responsibility not to reply?

Why is he making you responsible for it?

Also, just to keep things on topic.

PvE is fun, but it’s more fun when you have to look over your shoulder knowing that at any time, lurking in the shadows, is a fleet of catalysts ready to pounce!

He’s milking it for all its worth. Really can’t say I blame him. All is fair in love and eve.

Is me. :smirk:

What exactly is he milking?

Hes hoping to garner enough support on the forums to change CCP’s mind (Not that they have one  ) in any way he possibly can. It’s not working…

In one sense I haven’t felt too badly the inflation because I have been in eve a long time so I’ve accumulated much and have the skills to build pretty much everything, I bought/buy most material in bulk long ago so inflation for me hasn’t bothered me too much.

But on the other hand most newer player would definitely feel the pinch and thus more upset when losing stuff to others, then looking at the prospect of spending RL money when things are already tough for most people, I can see why so many people don’t see long term gain in this game and choose to cut losses.

Yeap, thats my point!

In the past a newcomer grindy player could grind that ISK doing generic stuff for 20-30 hours for the PLEX and maybe save some ISK. Now a newcomer would need +100 hours.

So that profile of player won’t stay in EVE anymore, this puts one more nail in EVE’s coffin.

So did I but for different reasons.

Are we not part of eve’s problems?

Depends on who asks, I still buy stuff, still sub my account regardless, so kinda down the middle for me.

Very true!

Bought a drone instead. I find pissing off new departments of my government after all the usual ones more exciting than eve. More on that later.

I dont actually usually advocate a “get with the program or get out stance”, but…

If people think EvE is a game you can succeed at, or compete in, or rise to the top at, they should quit.

EvE is about surviving. Thats why its so unpleasant an experience to play.

I totally agree. And its about whether one survives by just sitting in dock or by going out and taking risk. People seem to want that ’ I am a survivor’ feeling without ever doing anything that would have put their survival at risk. Medals merely for attending.

I’m no game design expert, but isn’t it a bad thing for a game to be an unpleasant experience to play?

Not if unpleasant=challenging.
