How To Handle 'PvE Only'

Please, I’m begging you not to. I am banned from every major MMO alive and defunct, I have a 88% ban rate in my Steam library and haven’t yet joined the 95-club. If I go to prison before then how will I ever gain the respect of fellow inmates?

@Ax_l_Thorne You and your ilk are clearly the worst sort of people. Sullying this fine mining simulator with your pvp garbage.

There is no hope for you. You are a horrible person, in RL, for playing videogames that have pvp elements. You fell for the bait. Like me. And now I have to serve multiple consecutive life time sentences in a federal prison for blowing up pixilated spacehips in a pvp centric space game with terrible submarine mechanics.

I should have learned but like the deranged person I am, I became hooked on causing pixilated space misery and seeing pixilated space explosions. It got so bad that I would imagine myself wildly cackling ripping open pods and pouring the pod goo all over myself in sheer ecstasy. It was a real problem. They were right to lock me up.

But because of prison enrichment programs I have to play 8 hrs of videogames a day and unfortunately the only option is EvE. Because I was banned from Fortnite, and Among Us.

See, I thought it was mining corpses from pods. :frowning:

Oh man, you must get picked on a lot in the yard. I heard that one of the most elite OG BoB PVPers from 2003 is serving death sentences in 24 of the 50 US States, and has already been legally executed in 3 of them. He’s also serving life sentences in 25 of the remaining states (he tried for all 50 but Maine was the only one that thought his conduct acceptable) plus the territory of Puerto Rico. If it wasn’t for violating all those state laws he is also up for extradition to Australia, UK, France, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Indonesia, China, Japan, and North Korea because of all their laws he violated too.

They say as soon as his hands are on a console controller, that console’s IMEI is immediately banned from all servers, and that his tough-guy attitude is so neurotically extreme that when you propose a PVP nerf for a game anywhere within 500 meters of him that his amygdala hijacks his brain and he goes on a rampage of destruction that has left 3 of his last 5 prisons that he has been incarcared in completely levelled and other imnmates escaped – hence why there’s a bunch of tough guy PvPers playing EvE.

Whatever… wierdo

It’s a sample for sure. Probably the worst cases that are beyond help, like that poor Gix.
Boy they weren’t kidding when they called EVE’s player base toxic. I think it’s worse than toxic but they haven’t invented that word yet.

These nerf gankers/pve only threads have degenerated to a point where I am just no longer sure what is sarcasm and what is not. It feels surreal to hear people complain that pvpers are the worst sort of players in the forms form one of the last pvp oriented MMOs. The majority of MMOs are built around PvE. Why can’t EvE keep its PvP in all its glory?

But it’s totally fine when those same PvP players repeatedly insult other people and tell them to leave the game because they enjoy PvE and don’t want to be forced into PvP combat constantly?

I’m sure it will. There’s nothing wrong with EVE’s PvP, there’s everything wrong for PvPers to grief other players who are engaged in PvE.
EVE Online is a PvE game just as much as it is PvP.

OMG…and I was once in the same system as you, totally unaware that beneath all the charm was a pixel murdering psychopath, wanted in 27 systems for both first and second degree pixel homicide and theft of loot. Officer Dibbley of Concord told me that you also committed the utterly heinous crime of attacking while the victims are watching Netflix…a crime so serious that the penalty can only be an additional 57 years of repeats of Teletubbies in a padded cell surrounded by Carebears…which might one day rehabilitate you back into being a normal member of space society.

That is PvP!

This is already how I live my life. It is very cathartic.

Don’t tell me what to eat, consumptionist griefer scumbag.

If I were given such power, I would change EVE a lot, mainly by reverting it to its 2009 version, i.e. back when it had three times the players logged in.

Yes I know, everything is “PvP”.

@Defi_Natalie_NotAnAlt Good thing I haven’t got ganked yet, there would’ve been 50 posts about my so-called salt for losing some pixels, lol.

In PvP centric games, pretty much.

Everything is PvP, but only when they need to make that claim to support their argument. If you suggest that highsec ganking should be removed then they claim that would remove all PvP from highsec.

I was gonna say: in PvP-obsessed heads.

Of course.

I don’t want PvP to go anywhere, hisec or anywhere else. PvP isn’t the trouble, it’s PvPers that need to be restricted to certain targets and be made to forgo on other targets.
Won’t happen anyway so who cares.

 You may be on to something here, in all honesty. As I mentioned earlier EvE is one of the few nonconsensual PvP centric MMOs out there. Naturally it attracts people who enjoy PvP, and don’t like the idea of removing it from the game, even in small ways. Most of what I do in the game is PvE. I don’t want the PvP in EvE to be diluted or bits of it removed. I like having to worry about gankers as I haul stuff from the trade hubs, or run mission in high sec. Nonconsensual PvP is why I started playing EvE in the first place.

The reality is that the two playstyles are not mutually exclusive. Many PvP enthusiasts have a PvE alt, or two.

Oddly perhaps, I’ve not met many PvE enthusiasts who have a PvP alt, or two.

There must be something about the Psychology of the players which allows PvP players to embrace PvE, but not the other way around.
