How To Handle 'PvE Only'

No, that would be you. Eve is, and has been, a place where ganking has existed for most of its history. It’s not something that was introduced last week. Thus ganking quite literally ‘is’ a part of Eve and has a long history as such. God knows what game you are talking about, but it isn’t Eve.

Lots of things have been a part of EVE and yet were changed. Do you not see that the only reason you think things like ganking should never be changed but everything else is fine to change is just your bias?

There is no reason why other game mechanics should be nerfed, drastically changed and even removed, but ganking should be exempt from change.

They go along with changes that don’t affect them easily enough and when that happens then those affected are “whiners” and “carebears” "lazy"and “Snowflakes”
But as soon as something disturbs their PvP dreamland then everyone is supposed to agree with their braying and forced to “pick a side”, like it’s a battle they’ll win against CCP.
Hilarious.

This remark here shows the ignorance of the poster that said it.
EvE was based off Elite, a challening game the original Developers wanted to be able to play with others…so they set out to create a MMO. EvE is for those that want a challenge and not really for those that dont.

How much PvP was there in Elite?

EVE is not just for those that want a challenge, irrespective of how much you want that to be true.

Do you have evidence for that statement?

The large number of mechanics that don’t offer much of a challenge that CCP continues to support.

I thought you said mining was effort?

I’m not sure which comment you’re referring to but effort and challenge are different things. As an example planet industry takes effort but is not challenging. EVE historically attracted people who want a challenge and people who want a casual space adventure in a player run universe. That’s why it’s a sandbox so it can be more than one thing.

But now people who claim to like a challenge have decided that being challenging is the only thing EVE is built for and lambast anyone who doesn’t agree, even though a lot of them (like the gankers) don’t even have a challenging playstyle themselves.

So if its more than one thing now, please stop lobbying to have it be only one thing. Thanks.

Careful, you’re going to drag it back into the same “No, I’m not shrinking the sandbox, becuase more players” which might tread old ground again.

How is talking to Scot treatin’ ya?

Tbh I wasnt sure until he split that hair there.

Feels good because now I dont have to keep going.

I’m not lobbying for it to be one thing, I’m lobbying for more delineation between playstyles.

I could immediately tell when I felt the same familiar “can’t give 1 millimeter of ground to build a constructive discussion” vibe.

First it was “No that post by CCP Swift after fanfest that said ganking is allowed in Eve wasn’t by a CCP employee; but it wasn’t made after fanfest; but I never said it shouldn’t be allowed; but you’re personally attacking me”.

Then it was “That post that I said I never flag people and then admitted to flagging people; no I never said that; no you still didn’t quote me ever saying that; ok but it was in another thread and there it is true; but you’re personally attacking me”

And now it is that whole “I am advocating removing certain gameplay elements; I’m not shrinking the sandbox because there’d be more players; I’m still ignoring the capabilities of the sandbox decreasing; but pro-gankers just cry like whiny carebears all the time; but pro-gankers aren’t building constructive discussion while I myself have been the utmost civil person here; but I’m ignoring all the times you’ve accepted my points and will continue to not budge from mine; but I’ve seen you personally attack people and don’t believe you”.

Scot needs a new MO.

No it was based on Ultima Online, a ruthless pvp sandbox MMO. It just happened to have spaceships (using a submarine game engine).

PvPers are the worst sort of players. Period.

I don’t think I’d go that far, but EVE certainly has managed to attract a number of PvP players who seem intent on pushing out anyone that doesn’t think or play like them, probably because they’ve already been banned everywhere else.

Maybe because you haven’t yet dealt with their entitled attitude and hateful behavior. They ruin every game they play and they have ruined EVE more than CCP ever could.

Tyrants throwing tentrums when logic trumps their fantasy.

Bingo!

They should totally be locked up in RL for all the psychological damage they do and the cyber bullying. These people are a menace to society in general.

True. They get an instant block if they try to mail me or invite me to a conversation so I don’t see much of their attitude outside of the forum, but if this place is any indication of what they are like in game it’s pretty bad.
