How To Handle 'PvE Only'

It is a complete lie…as a newbro can create a Venture for a mere 300K ISK, which can make more than that cost ( about 400K ISK ) in a single trip to the asteroid belts. Thus even a newbro who was being ganked 50% of the times he undocked would still be making a profit !

Somewhere around 15-20 minutes. I had to fly manually to try to mitigate as much of that 2,600 DPS as possible, it just couldn’t be full-on tanked even with faction gear. I can’t believe how ridiculously OP marauders are.

Right, but it sounds like you’re faulting CCP for these players not looking for other activities, when it fact it was these players’ own personal, rational choice. If people keep coming into the game with the sole intent of grinding out enough to “play for free” for the sake of continuing to grind out enough to keep playing for free, there’s nothing that CCP can do about that aside from, I don’t know, eliminating the PLEX system entirely?

CCP has multiple “publics,” as is evident by this thread for example. One public wants to play a hardcore PvP survival game. Another public wants to solo-run PvE content in peace. Yet another public just wants to operate bots and RMT enough money to be able to pay their rent. There are many others too.

CCP doesn’t really control this, and they can’t cater to one without alienating another.

@Destiny_Corrupted how countries devastated by wars after losing 10% or more of their population recover?

How to heal a country that lost half their population?
How to fix such economy?

That’s no my expertise so I have no idea how.
And how a new player will make their way through EVE while the PLEX is 5 mil and the sub is U$ 19.90 where the game itself is s very slow burn.

There’s this PvE rethoric around, is it worth paying $5 a month for this PvE we got here?

Not CCP’s fault, but they lacked that business smartness, that emotional inteligence. In many occasions they seemed completely detached.

agree marauders are soooo OP nowadays

omg a bhaalgorn please send me the fit (full , i saved the basic already)
super cool great job

EVE isn’t a country, it’s a video game. You can’t apply the same principles for “healing” a video game that you would apply to healing a country.

You’re criticizing CCP for not delivering a solution to a problem you can’t clearly define, or to present your own examples of solutions for. This isn’t a rational, objective viewpoint. When your sole feedback is “they’re in charge, so they should figure out how to fix this!”, you might not necessarily like the solution that they come up with when it’s put into practice.

I am just trying to look at EVE with fresh eyes as if this was the first time I see EVE.

Our opinions based on our toons, who have a ton of skill points, assets and we have personal experience in a lot of stuff, are not things that will be at hand for newcomers.

When we joined EVE the wall was 3 feet tall, now it’s 100 feet tall… should they sub?
Or should they grind?

Nowadays the grind people will are having an “oh ■■■■” momment when they start.

Nobody can because they are the ones who should have reached out their player base and put together stuff for them?

There is clearly one thing, the grind people are gone and recently I found an influx of null sec alts grinding ISK in highsec. What will happen when these people burn too?

See?
That’s the thing I am reflecting about, EVE is turning into mostly a sub game and the grind door is shutting.

Another proof of this is the safety green alphas talks.

It’s happening!

How will the alpha newcomers experience EVE if the alphas are blatantly capped and the ISK for Omega is unreachable?

:man_in_lotus_position: :person_in_lotus_position:

We are transitioning to a sub only community even tough the business model didn’t change!

Is it worth paying $5 a month for mining? I already know your answers, your answers are no.

You can fairly easily build a bhaalgorn that can facetank a Varg, especially if it doesn’t need a prop mod because you use warp ins (or the varg WANTS to attack you). It’d be highly specialized both in fit and implants though, not really a “oh look a vargur” kind of deal.

I understand you disagree with me. That does not mean I’m ignorant, wrong or that I “can’t grasp” anything. It just means you disagree.

Why, what changed and whats on the other side of that wall?

I actually would be fine with 1.0 systems being PVE only. I don’t particularly care either way. But if any part of the game were made PVE only, they would need to be 100% sure to move the most valuable things out of there. No level 4 missions even, IMO. If doing something like that would greatly improve the enjoyment for some players, that’d be fine with me. Basically what I would want to avoid would be anything that made other types of space pointless. E.g., if you have all the same things in 1.0 as in other hi sec, there is no point in other hi sec, so the universe just effectively became smaller.

A better idea would be to have “islands” of 4-5 systems that are essentially new player training areas, one per empire. Making 1.0 systems safe doesn’t work, because some of the most trafficked hubs like Perimeter and Amarr are 1.0 systems. As long as the earning potential in these areas is capped out at around 10 million ISK per hour, it would be alright. Also these systems would need inflated NPC market order fees in order to prevent them from becoming primary market hubs, and all usage of filaments (except T0-T1 abyssals) and jump drive activation would need to be disabled.

Basically limited to level 2 missions, T1 abyssals, occasional anomalies up to 2/10 (so the market for C-Type stuff doesn’t crash, and to teach new players about competition for rare resources), and lots of belts with regular belt rats and lots of low-end asteroid rocks with lower volumes (to deter AFK mining).

This would be a reasonable idea, and many hardcore PvPers and pirates have gone on record supporting something like this. In exchange, some of the recent high-sec PvP nerfs should be at least marginally walked back.

As long as it also affects pi, production etc that’s a great idea. Perhaps even limit the gates to not allow BS, CS, HAC, orca and freighters.

I just have one question.
Are there actual Carebears in this game and is it a crossover like they did with Dr.Who?

Coming summer of 2023.

Dr.Who or the Carebears? I find it a bit strange to have Carebears in a sci-fi game but if it brings revenues…
What part of space can we see them?

the more important part is the care
they care to much
my net worth is 13 billion ATM
most carebears are light years ahead and yet they cry all the time
because they care soooo much

Carebears don’t cry, they’re always happy. I’ve seen the cartoons you know.

Is that a lot for this game?

its super uber dirt poor

yeah you are right
but in eve the care is the most important part
oh my precious hulk i will quit the game :sob:
1 trilion in the wallet
