NPR’s Planet Money offer an entertaining, and informative 4 part podcast on the current commercial satellite business. You have to be a real satellite nerd to enjoy this stuff.

Oh, that was in 1988-1989.
He passed away in the next few year due to hypoglycemia and complications.
