1000 players cheating, 900 getting caught and banned. 100 slipping through and getting an advantage. Totally irrelevant for the games health.
All that “using VMs, using different mails, using VPNs” blah blah has been debunked a thousand times. I really don’t know why people keep repeating that. The sheer hope enough dummies really believe that can hide your identity from a server that has a client software installed on your PC which can directly access hardware? lulz. Please, I ask that for the like 10th time. Stop repeating this nonsense. VPNs, mails and VMs cannot hide your identity from CCP/FC if they really wanted to stop Multiboxing. (Which they won’t because it makes them money).
The point is that I’d rather want FCCP to spend that time catching 900 botters and RMTers instead of cheating multiboxers. Every extra thing added to the list of cheats that can still mechanically be done requires additional workload by FCCP to enforce such a rule.
It couldn’t “mechanically be done”. Do you believe the nonsense of people building racks of physical PCs and glueing mouses together with wooden sticks? -_-
The whole discussion is moot anyway, because CCP/FC wouldn’t even consider banning multiboxing, it is a reliable source of income. All I want to adress is that people should stop repeating the myth that “it cannot be prevented, people would just use VM, VPN, different mail, different IP” nonsense.
In the purely theoretical scenario CCP/FC would want to make sure you can only run a single (or two, or three) instance(s) of EVE on your PC, they absolutely could enforce that via technical means with a success rate so high that the handful remaining successful cheaters absolutely wouldn’t matter any more.
I can agree to that this would take quite a bit of development effort that could be spent elsewhere. And if the game mechanics are better balanced and developing towards rewarding quick decsion making and adequate activity per account, the benefit of large-scale multiboxing vanishes more and a more all by itself. Which would probably be the better route to go.
If you run installed software on a Computer you will be unable to make it ‘unaffiliated’.
Your Fingerprint on personal Hardware is magnificent.
I am not gonna start head into Ring 0 anti cheat.
Beside running Server heuristics once you are flagged.
I don´t care about 4 Accounts doing Smartbomb Ratting.
The Content is over 20 Years old and didn´t change much.
We had Boson Ratting.
We had Stormbringers/Thunderchild
We back to Smartbomb Ratting
This content is just not a challange and i would love which we add dynamic group activity stuff which the APM is so high for single Spaceship so you struggle doing it with 10 Accounts.
Show me Starcraft PRO Player which can play 10 Games in the same time.
I will wait and sip on my Negroni…
Thank you very much, uh was not expecting this much. <3
Jeah, looks like their is a magic gap upto 5-6 Accounts.
Which i would put on the same class as Smartbomb Ratting + MTU Dropper + Scouts.
So this is 4-7 Accounts which probably only 4-5 are kind of active.
This was a old meme picture, i am not sure if this actually still is valid.
But for the memes somebody post the picture again
My current conclusion is:
Bad content deserve multi boxing, thats the fault of CCP
Mining, Smartbomb Ratting Pochven, Structure Bash etc etc.
There is no challange in it.. and you can super easy multibox it.
If DEVs unable to build challanging content… i don´t want to blame Multiboxer. I want to blame the people doing the lazy game desing allowing it in the first place.
This doesn´t mean all of the content should be removed.
Some can stay… but new content should made to be harder for multiboxing.
Pochven with the mass marauder spam is probably an issue which should be adressed.
This is an interesting list. I don’t know most of the games there (in fact I played none of them), so forgive me if I ask the question:
Is it in any of those games possible to enter a PvP area with ~10+ own accounts and combat other players or groups successfully? If so, do you mind link me a page or a video where I can investigate that further? Thanks in advance!
