Even if you’re by yourself, you can go into the star map and choose “Average pilots in space in the last 30 minutes” as your filter. F10, and then the icon that looks like a gear.
If you see 20 or more pilots showing up in a low sec area, that’s definitely a gate camp.
But really you should read up on the Micro Warp Drive Cloak trick. And it you think they have an instalocker, another alternative is to just plain cloak up and drift away from them. Hope they don’t have debris they can drag over to decloak you.
