HS FUBAR! ccplease!

I’m sure that there have been plenty of changes to values CCP gives for drop rates that have remained outside of official patch notes, although I do appreciate the detail of your response. CCP has the long term habit of doing implementation of usually minor changes without having any official notice, leaving it up to the players to discover sooner or later. Dropping a rate from 25% to 23% to 21% etc. over several years allows for the boiling frog scenario in regards to being noticable. My OCD like collection of mission loot held for a decade shows that long term effect changes have been made during the years, although perhaps not as great in some areas that have been made out to be by some.

i would agree in some regard as there have been sweeping changes that did not directly affect drop rates but instead spawn size and composition of Anomalys. most notably the changes to spawn mechanics from constellational to regional back in 2012 ish & the changes to spawn rates in null affected by True Sec.

the bigger impact is still in ship and fit efficiency though (recent VNI nerf). if you are not killing NPCs as fast your overall stockpile of available wrecks and loot there in is going to be less.

also on an additional note CCP did remove META1 MODS from all NPC drop tables but replaced this drop in Wreck values with additional Meta 2-4 mods (this was around the
first round of module tier-aside)

we would also need to look at feature depreciation as a cause for the perceived drop in loot yield. where are many dead features in game still that have not seen any real work since there implementation.

There’s more to it than that. They also nerfed the mineral requirements to “build” these meta items. They almost cut it in half iirc (not sure, too long ago). Since you can’t actually build them, it was another nerf to gun-mining (reprocessing). The meta 1 item still needs the ‘full’ mineral rquirements when you build them from blueprints.

ccp never intended for them to be reprocessed, this was an emergent tactic players used that ccp decided to fix. it in no way devalued the meta mods as this was done in conjunction with early tier-aside. a market was created in 1 patch that sees consistent trade of meta mods and their use in competitive fits to this day. ccp just moved the value in to the module as opposed to the minerals it generates if reprocessed.

so this was not a nerf to loot drops but a clear and positive balance change for eve online

Which is why it is possible to reprosess, Besides; says you, not CCP,

unrelated to anything I said

Cos halving the reprosess rate and removing meta1 is not a nerf at all

Although I simply tried to make your remark more complete without taking a stance, you seem on a crusade. I dont care about that.

Expect an edit…

1 - Removed Drone Loot - Became bounties
2- Replaced percentage of module drops with Metal Scraps - Part of tier-aside
3- Reduced drop amount of Metal Scraps - *Scrap volume (m3) and Trit yield was adjusted *
(cant find a reduction mentioned in PNs)
4- Removed Meta 0 modules - biggest change i already covered
5- Reduced drop amount of modules - this was due to bigger loot payout in all after tier-aside and the uptake and use of the post-tier-aside Mods
6- Replaced Meta level 2, 3 and 4 mods with variations of Meta level 1 modules - This is tier-aside
7- Reduced drop amount of Meta level 1 modules - cant find any specific mentions of this
