HuntBuzz for CSM 21: A resilient and healthy game for all

Greetings gamers, HuntBuzz here. I’m putting my name forward as a candidate for CSM 21.

My EVE story (so far…)
I’ve played EVE on and off since 2006. Today, I lead The Initiative’s Nightstalkers black ops group and serve as a junior alliance FC. I’m running because I care about EVE’s future and want to bring practical experience, constructive feedback, and a willingness to listen to the CSM.

My EVE story began in high sec, running missions in a Drake and trying my hand at mining. That changed when I joined hirr, led by Ashemi Darkhold, in Morsus Mihi. There, I had the chance to explore mining, PvE, and PvP, and discover just how much EVE had to offer.

After Morsus Mihi disbanded, I followed hirr to RAZOR Alliance before later joining Black Legion. I took a long break in 2014 and returned in 2020, spending time with hirr in TEST and then Black Omega Security. I still miss the shutupandshave parodies on comms.

Following TEST’s collapse and another break, I returned in 2023 and joined Kenshin in Fraternity. They were a great bunch of people. Eventually, I wanted more freedom to develop a dedicated black ops group, which brought me to The Initiative. INIT has been my home ever since.

My areas of expertise

Covert warfare:
Leading Nightstalkers gives me practical experience organising black ops fleets, hunting targets, and turning opportunities into kills.

Scanning and wormhole exploration:
As a contributor to INIT’s Wormhole Crew, I help map connections and use wormholes to move fleets and reach targets.

Small gang PvP:
I enjoy leading fleets of up to 25 pilots and experimenting with fittings and tactics. I do not shy away from larger engagements of up to 150 pilots though!

Mining and industry:
I built my titan from scratch and continue to build black ops ships for Nightstalkers. I understand the work that goes into putting those ships in space.

Structures and power projection:
My experience in null sec has given me a close view of how tether, keepstars, supercapital storage, and ansiblex networks shape both everyday activity and larger conflicts.

Why am I applying for CSM
After many years in EVE, I want to give something back to the community. The CSM offers an opportunity to bring player experience and feedback directly to FC and I want to help turn that feedback into clear, practical discussions about the game’s future.

My strongest experience is in null sec, but my commitment would be to players across EVE. That means listening to people with different playstyles, taking their concerns seriously, and being willing to reconsider my own views.

My main priorities

Tether: Reassess the amount of safety tether provides and push for a better balance between protection, risk, and opportunities for engagement.

Keepstars: Address their outsized influence on null sec warfare, particularly around defensive strength and supercapital safety.

Ansiblex networks: Build on recent progress and continue examining how they affect mobility, power projection, and conflict.

Sovereignty: Push for a system that gives smaller groups better opportunities to establish themselves, hold space, and compete.

Projection: Make sure that we are making the right decisions that will not cause the game to grow stale.

What can you expect from me
You can expect me to listen beyond my own alliance, welcome constructive disagreement, communicate with the community, and put serious effort into representing your concerns to FC.

I want EVE to remain a game where taking risks is worthwhile, smaller groups have room to grow, and players have reasons to undock.

Thanks for reading. I’d appreciate your questions, your feedback, and your support for CSM 21.

See below my post, my discord is there

Huntbuzz creates a lot of the content I enjoy participating in on a day-to-day basis, and he can bring people together from many areas of EVE to have fun. That is an important skill for any CSM member, and I think his reach and organizational skills will be an assets to this year’s CSM.

Hello @HuntBuzz, what about this?

  • The connection between EVE Online and EVE Vanguard

Do you have any expectations what that could be, how it could work? I am aware there is nothing tangible yet, but it’s rather inevitable if I red FC correctly.

I would like to understand what FC expects to gain from the game. There are many ways to connect the two games (some more extreme than others). The last thing we want is it connected to EVE and then Vanguard becoming stale and adversely affecting EVE.
