Hypernet is great

I wonder how many people I have blocked because of the hypernet.
I’m pretty sure it’s not all of them yet, but who knows, maybe someday.

So after careful consideration in lack of spending budget for a while…I’ve downgraded it to what it actually is …a lottery thing , playing only 512 ticket raffles, below 600k isk ticket price :D, dat seems to be a good threshold. it’s fun when you actually win some 100mil+ ship with 5m spending out of 10 raffles and get 80mil profit after taxes, to fund some 10 more small raffles…it doesn’t break any morale if 5mil isk goes awol here and there  Oh well ! was a costly lesson.
I know people would be saying that you’re better of buying a 100mil ship than failing 15 small investment raffles to get it …but I guess it’s the act of “wishfull thinking”, you get a stir of emotions raffling for it, buying it’s just two clicks and done …the only ones turning lottery into a profit long term are the lottery owners, anyway.

Repeat after me: The first rule of Eve is to not risk what you can’t afford to lose.

The first rule of Eve is to got to risk what you can’t afford to loose.

I did Hypernet both as a buyer and a seller. Its NEVER profitable as a buyer long term. Its always profitable as the seller IF you are consistent buying half the tickets, reinvesting into more putting up more stuff, and keep the value of the items roughly the same. (basically, if you got 1b to invest in hypernet, don’t buy two 500m items and risk losing it all over two 50/50s, buy twenty 50m items instead and the math will be in your favor over the long haul)

If you got isk to waste and feel lucky, go ahead throw some isk buying hypernet nodes. But if you are looking to make any kind of profit, always be the seller.

This does absolutely nothing for your profits. Your expected value remains exactly the same regardless of how many of your own tickets you buy. Why are people propagating this myth, and how did it even come about in the first place? It’s absolutely infuriating. The only factor that affects Hypernet profits is the total cost of the tickets in proportion to the value of the item being raffled off.

You can’t really “loose” as a seller, if a raffle is complete and you’re buying half the tickets, you get a small profit margin everytime, anyway. It was supposed to be an alternate market but because it’s Eve, the players themselves turned it into a casino of sorts where the seller tries to gamble the item and win it back at 50%/50% …whereas if he would have sold all the tickets, he would make a nice profit anyway. The fault here is CCP limiting a raffle at 3 days. Make it a week and maybe limit the number of active raffles a seller can put up to 10-20 , people won’t buyback half the tickets to have them completed.

Hypernet is mostly a scam. I have spent several hours on multiple occasions trying to find basically anything with a positive EV and only once have I found one.

Do it for yourself, maybe you will get lucky.

(Jita price / #tickets) - ticket price. If it is a positive number it is valid, if it is a negative number it is a scam.

A wise man once told me something like this, my words, his concept: “Some people cannot comprehend logic and can only comprehend happenings and life as being luck or fate. Therefore, gambling everything makes complete sense to them and they think were just fated to lose or had bad luck.”

It’s completely true, I’m responsible for the things that happen to many people.

Now it’s a bot hunt.
Lovely huh?

Also I saw you doing your thing today, that was a LOT of fun to watch.
Thanks for the show and the education. It was fascinating.

It’s your doing! I knew it wasn’t my fault.
Still, I’m a good scapegoat, blame me.

We only shoot verified and confirmed botters.
