I think people may buy their own tickets to try and complete the put up Hypernet Offers. Because it will also give them chance to get the item back, alongside the money from sold tickets. And they not lose the put up costs.

And as I wrote before it’s mathematically a bad move, unless the offer reaches its end (and then it’s a good move)

V being the market value of the item, S being the scam value of the offer, p being the chance to win the lottery (and at the same time the ratio of tickets he bought, if the lottery is not rigged)
the function V+ (1-p)×S is decreasing with p, therefore you want to have p the lowest so 0 if possible).
